View on Google MapsOur history/food walking tour with Karmela was an absolute delight. Being a teacher and chef, she led us on a voyage of discovery that included historical sites and taste of the food of Croatia. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone seeking to learn more about the country from those points of view. Our only caution would be to come with a big appetite.
We had a wonderful tour with Karmela. We learned all about the local foods and got some local history and a great walking tour of the city. We had a fabulous wine tasting and 5-6 delicious food stops. A perfect all in one tour. Highly recommend!
Great day to learn some history and have a fabulous food tour!! Kamala also teaches culinary classes, so you get an expert in history and food!! Well paced 6 hour tour. Excellent communication.

If I could give this tour more stars it still wouldn’t be enough! Karmela took us on a journey through the history of Zagreb. Beautifully woven throughout were stories of family and an incredible knowledge of food and wine. From the moment of booking Karmela’s communication was excellent, even suggesting changes the day before to accommodate the heat wave and make for a more comfortable journey. Each destination was chosen with care and included the history of the food/wine and its place within the food climate of the whole of Croatia. Special mention goes to the Sprukli tasting which was an absolute highlight. Our only disappointment was that we did not know Karmela also hosts a cooking school so that we could take the skills to make these gorgeous dishes home with us. Stunning tour and incredible host.
Extremely impressed with the care and attention to detail in the food preparation, especially as someone with coeliac disease. There was a gluten-free variation available for everything, which made the experience stress-free and enjoyable. The itinerary covered all the major sightseeing landmarks while also highlighting unique local delicacies. Highly recommend!
Excellent food and sightseeing tour! This is a great way to spend a day in Zagreb if you only have one day, by booking with Zagreb Gourmet for only 100E a person for a full six hours including all the food. Karmela is super responsive when you contact her and delightful company. The day was filled with sightseeing and so much food and we really got a detailed sense of local Croatian culture. What is important to understand is that this is Karmela's own local business, she is not part of a food tour chain, which means instead of loading you up with cheap carbs you are getting a great mix of food including lots of protein. The bakery at the end was the best bakery of our 24 nights in Croatia. We have done a lot of food tours around the world and this is one of the best.
The food was amazing. Zagreb is a beautiful city with so much to see. We enjoyed the personal stories of the city and its history. Karmela, our tour guide, did a phenomenal job giving us the tour and taking us to taste so many delicious Croatian foods. It was a real treat learning about the history of these foods as well as the history of the tour stops.
Amazing experience from start to finish. Karmela has found the perfect blend of food tasting with touring. Her knowledge on both fronts is excellent. A thoroughly enjoyable day. One could only hope that we walked off at least some of the calories.
This was an incredible food and wine tour, PLUS, a history tour too which was a complete surprise. When she says eat a light breakfast, BELIEVE IT! Our tour ended up taking seven hours and we were immersed in the food, culture and history of Croatia and Zagreb. Thanks so much!!!
We cannot recommend this food tour enough! We spent the day with Karmela exploring the wonderful food and culture of Zagreb! In addition to enjoying the food and conversation, we explored the history of this city! Karmela gave us recommendations of other things to do in Zagreb and other cities we are visiting!
