View on Google MapsDave picked us up and we had a great day from there. We went to 4 wineries and loved all of them We lunched after a tasting at Pallisers and the food was as wonderful as the Wine. Each winery had it's charms and we loved all the wine offered. I highly recommend this company, and our tour guide, Dave!
Fabulous experience. First class tour guide and locations.visited were great. I recommend this tour for anyone interested in local wines and in learning about the history of the country.
I had a truly great day out travelling around Wellington and sampling a number of beautiful tasting wines. I enjoyed listening to the owners and staff speak so passionately and eloquently about the wines I was drinking. This was complemented by my tour guide tom. His knowledge and experince shown through as the day unfolded with photo opportunities and great conversations.
I had a beautiful tour in Wellington & Wairarapa Day Tour with Tom as my tour guide, thank you to Tom. As this experience, I learnt and visited many places as below: -Lambton Quay – Saw the original 1855 shoreline uplifted by an 8.2 earthquake. - Parliament Grounds – Viewed Bowen House, the Beehive, Parliament House & Library. - Remutaka Hill Summit – Visited WWI memorial for 60,000 troops who crossed to Wellington Port. - Featherston – Met Paul Broughton at C’est Cheese, home of award-winning Brie. - Opaki Wine Region – Enjoyed a stunning platter lunch and wine tasting at Le Gra, hosted by winemaker Nicky Geary. - Greytown – Visited Schoc Chocolates—heavenly smells and creative flavors by ‘Chocologist’ Murray Langham. - Wellington Cable Car – Rode this iconic attraction, operating since 1902. - Bolton Street – Drove past relocated settler graves disrupted by motorway construction. - Oriental Bay & Mt Victoria – Scenic views of city and harbour. - Miramar ‘Wellywood’ – Saw Weta Cave & Workshop, Stone Street Studios, and visited the Roxy Theatre to view Jamie Selkirk’s actual Oscar. - Evans Bay – Passed homes with private cable cars. Wellington Waterfront – Walked by the WELL_NGTON sign, posed with Solace in the Wind, and discovered your virtual Halo sculpture A day with him (Tom) such a meaningful day ever
We had a wonderful time with Tom on our wine tour. His knowledge of the wineries and owners made for a warm and wonderful day. Highly recommended!
We had a private full day tour with Tom and had a blast! He was very knowledgeable, enjoyable, and went above and beyond what we expected of our tour! We definitely would recommend Tom and his touring company to everyone!
Although this is listed as "solo", we are a married couple traveling together. This is a private tour which picked us up and dropped us at our hotel. We had a great tour. Bryce, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the area, stopping at places of interest on the way to Martinborough and sharing personal anecdotes from his life in the area. The wineries we visited were all top notch, and it was a pleasure spending the day with Bryce. Tom, who owns the tour company went out of his way to meet us as we were leaving town on the ferry, and thanked us with a nice gift. Highly recommended.
NEVER have I ever.. written a review part way through a tour but this is justified to ensure all would be wine loving travellers to Wellington book this tour. Tom greeted us warmly at our hotel which set the scene well for the day ahead. He takes photos so you don’t have to, he provides so much information and the day so far is just so memorable. How luck are we to have found this tour and more importantly our guide Tom
The drive from Wellington to the wineries was stunning. Tom was knowledgeable, extremely friendly, and laid back. We enjoyed all of the wines we tasted and bought a bottle at each stop. We would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone looking to experience greater Wellington wine country!
An amazing trip, Tom is so knowledgeable about everything in Wellington and showed us loads of things before we even left the city. It’s a stunningly beautiful drive out of the city and a poignant stop at a WWI site before dropping into the winelands. Our first stop was probably our highlight as we stopped off at Le Gra. A small place run by a family and in a quiet side road……….heaven. The staff were amazing and after a few pictures we were told about the wines by Brian. We then had a very tasty lunch and a look around the vines. Would highly recommend this place. Our next winery was Johner Estate, proper in the sticks, but so nice. Great tastings from the really knowledgeable young lady. I was talking proper BS now so was loving it. Our last stop was in Martinborough, a place called Poppies, we had a few photos in the vines before sampling a few of the liquid goods. Again, the staff are so knowledgeable, they seem to know a lot more than me and I have been tasting wine for a lot longer than them. We then headed back to Wellington. What an experience which was for my 40th birthday and worth every penny. Tom is a very easy guy to talk to and knows answers to pretty much anything you ask him. What a stunning tour, would highly recommend to anyone want to see the winelands of Wairarapa.
