View on Google MapsMy family and I had an absolutely fantastic experience on Tim’s food tour. My boyfriend and I live in the neighborhood, and my parents were visiting from out of town, and despite that mix, the experience felt completely new and exciting for all of us. Even as locals, every stop was a new experience. From the very beginning, the tour felt incredibly personable and thoughtful — never scripted or rushed. Tim is exceptionally knowledgeable, not just about the food, but about the history of the neighborhood, the restaurants, and the people behind them. You could truly tell how much he cares about the community and takes pride in supporting local businesses. He shared stories that made each stop feel meaningful and personal, and he made everyone feel welcome and engaged throughout the tour. It was the perfect balance of great food, local insight, and genuine connection. I couldn’t recommend this experience (and Tim as guide) more highly!
This tour was a spectacular way of experiencing the different cultures that make up DC. We ate at family-owned restaurants and heart the stories behind how they started and became successful. We ate absolutely amazing food and drinks. I loved getting to try food I had never experienced before and hearing stories of the immigrants who came to the area for a better life and added their cultural heritage to the fabric of the DC area. Tim was a fantastic storyteller and we left the tour full and happy. I'd highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to eat the cuisine of the locals. This tour is probably better geared for adults due to the walking and the types of food, but foodies of any age would love it.
There’s a difference between “DC” and “Washington,” and after you take this tour you’ll know why and will proudly say, “I’ve experienced DC.” Tim is an incredibly knowledgeable guide who has a passion to tell the story of the people who make up this city, what brought them here, and how their neighborhoods developed. And the food is spectacular! Tim has curated some amazing dishes and drinks that represent the people of DC. You’ll walk away with knowledge of the geography, the people and the food that most tourist don’t experience. I enjoyed learning about “Black Broadway,” with a piece of sweet potato pie in hand and hearing about the El Salvadoran who built an amazing restaurant to feed the people of the city. The museums are great and speak to the history of the country Drink Eat Walk speaks to the soul of “DC.”
I had a fantastic experience on the DC Drink, Eat, WalkTour! It was the perfect blend of great food, local flavor, and rich history. Our guide did an amazing job sharing the stories and cultural background of the surrounding neighborhoods. I learned so much about the history of local DC communities while enjoying delicious bites and drinks along the way. The pace was relaxed, the stops were thoughtfully chosen, and the combination of culture, and cuisine made it a standout experience. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore DC from a fresh and authentic perspective!
We learnt so much! Tim made it fun and with such enthusiasm, it’s almost infectious! A fabulous way to learn about the DC neighborhood and how it evolved and is the fun vibrant place it is today! Tim is like a walking historian but delivers it with such passion you get to really feel what makes this very special city tick, his city! Of course you also get to enjoy some exceptional dishes and drinks eating in local restaurants with great choices made by Tim. Would highly recommend this super tour and Tim, thank you for a fabulous evening, Maria & Christopher x
This tour has it all: great food and drink; incredible stories, history, and background; and a charming, funny, knowledgeable tour guide who goes out of his way to make sure you end up loving HIS D.C. almost as much as he does. I cannot recommend Tim's tour enough - after many, many food and drink tours in many, many cities, this simply is one of the absolute best. From the numerous diverse communities that make up the backbone of D.C. come a broad selection of culinary delight and flavor, incredible street art, and cool experiences. Do yourself a favor and book today.
This is clearly a labor of love for our group leader, Tim. He emits a palpable fondness for the city and wants his tour groups to truly understand the real D.C. and the people who live here, away from the politics and regular tourist destinations. He supplements that passion with a tremendous amount of research, sharing knowledge that I had no idea about, despite living in the area for most of my life. The food and drinks were also amazing at each stop, but it was the stories about the proprietors and their cultures that made this so much more than a tour of authentic international foods in the nation's capital. Whether it's your first visit to D.C. for a conference or you're a lifelong resident of the DMV, this is a great way to spend a few hours.
If you want to experience a side of DC away from the monuments and museums, take this tour! You will enjoy an international assortment of food and drinks, while learning about the people and history of DC from a super friendly and knowledgeable guide! All you have to do is show up and enjoy the evening…Tim takes care of the rest!
I went on a DrinkEatWalk tour with my wife and a group of friends. There were 8 of us in total. I've traveled to 53 countries and 45 U.S. states and I've never been on a tour as fun, interesting, thoughtful and informative - it was exceptional. I grew up in the Washington area and I also learned so much about DC that I never knew so this tour is great for locals too. The guide was awesome and the food and drinks were excellent, which made it all so much fun and delicious! We loved it.
It was a great experience for our first walking food tour. I didn’t know what to expect and thought it was going to be a march from one restaurant to another, which would have been OK. Our guide, Tim, gave us so more much than what we expected. He has a profound love and knowledge for DC and the communities that make up the fabric and history of DC. The night experiencing the food and drinks and neighborhoods is something that will stick with us for a long time. I can recommend Tim’s tour without any reservation.
