View on Google MapsWhat an increcibly positive experience! We had the Thórsmörk day hike, a combination of super-jeep tour and a few hikes. Our guide (Siggi) was superb: Highly competent geologist, who profoundly answered all our (many!) questions regarding volcanos, glaciers, rivers, icelandic history. Plus, he had great fun in driving his adventure-jeep through rivers. We did three hikes in total, one lonely waterfall with some quite technical passages, the beautiful Thorsmörk mountain peak and finally an impressive canyon - each of these wouldn't have been possible for us without a guide, each of these were wonderful and unique experiences. The tour (and especially Siggi!) is a five-star recommendation - and we will definitely book it!!
Just back from a mind-blowing glacier hike and super jeep tour in Thorsmork, Iceland, and I’ve gotta say, it was epic! Guðný, our guide, was the star of the show - super kind, loads of fun, and knew everything about the area. She took us to spots we’d never find alone and pointed out cool wildlife like exotic birds and arctic foxes. The best part? It’s a private tour. We did things at our own speed, no random people photobombing our shots, just us in this crazy-beautiful landscape with caves, hikes, and icy glaciers. And Guðný, she’s awesome – even slid down the glaciers with us! Yeah, the price is a bit steep compared to other tours, but honestly? Totally worth it. You’re paying for a one-of-a-kind experience – no crowds, tailor-made adventure, and you need a beast of a jeep to handle Porsmork’s wild terrain. Guðný was a pro at that, too. So, if you’re up for an unforgettable day in Iceland with a cool guide, and don’t mind splurging a bit, this is your thing. Big thumbs up from me!

We had a terrific private day of hiking in Thorsmork with G in late September. While not inexpensive, and despite it raining almost all day, it was well worth it and was the memorable day we were hoping for with lots of great, distinctly Icelandic scenery that we never could have gotten to on our own. G was a fun companion for the day (What should you do if you get lost in a forest in Iceland? A: Stand up), and took us by the Seljalandsfoss waterfall for a bonus stop at the end of the day.
Strongly recommend this breathtaking excursion. Thank you very much, Stefan for this amazing day! One incredible surprise after the other!!
Brilliant tour from Hotel Ranga out to the black sandy beaches with views of . Then up the glacier valley to see the stunning glacier above Gigjokull. Lunch at the volcano huts (check them out!). Then to Seljalandsfoss waterfall. Perfect timings, no rush, Magnus was incredibly knowledgeable and fun guide! Best day in Iceland for me.
Despite drizzle and overcast, this was one of our favorite days in Iceland. We were lucky to have Ársæll Hauksson (Sæli) one of the owners as our guide, and he is a master of the 'saga' or story. Every rock in Iceland has a name and Sæli knew them all. The two hikes were wonderful, lunch was delicious and we learned a lot about Iceland's history, geography and people. If you want to go to Thorsmork (and you should), this is the group to go with.
We went with our staff from Smiðjan Brugghus to a day trip with Southcoast Adventure. Really fun day we had, little rain and wind but lots of fun. Recommend this trip if you want to take a little hike with a great view.
