Corso Antonio Fogazzaro, 16, 36100 Vicenza VI, Italy
View on Google MapsManuel was an excellent guide to the architecture of Andrea Palladio. We really enjoyed how he explained the political background at the time between Venice and Vicenza that gave rise to this former stonemason becoming an architect who would have such an impact on architecture throughout the ages. His recommendations on where to go and what to see after the tour were spot on. So if you want detailed insights into the times and building of Vicenzias majestic buildings this is the tour for you. Thank you Manuel for sharing your passion with us.
This is an exceptional experience, given to us by a qualified architect and brilliant historian Manuel. It is best if you understand from the start that the experience is comprised of a comprehensive tailor-made thoughtful package and after the first hour you are more or less independent/on your own but Manuel (and colleagues) are available for questions on WhatsApp or at the headquarters: (1) first hour: intro by Manuel to the architect Palladio in a stunning Palladian headquarters/building dedicated to the works and substantial influence of Palladio including a walking tour nearby of several Palladian buildings. There is a great gift shop on site with mostly locally made Palladian inspired gifts. I bought 5 gorgeous scarves of Palladian buildings made by a woman in Lake Como; (2) tickets to nearly all city museums including a surprisingly cool Palladian covered/indoor ampitheatre; (3) high quality electric rental bikes available at the headquarters; and (4) exclusive entry, for us on a day it was closed to the public, to La Rotonda, a Palladian masterpiece villa just outside of Vicenza city center and accessible on the bikes (or by bus or taxi). Other villas are also included. While you are on the bikes, we also strongly recommend visiting nearby (1) Monte Berico Basilica which includes a gorgeous Veronese painting (have to ask to see it in a separate room in the back of the church), (2) Valmarana Villa (not Palladian but stunning) full of wonderful remarkable Tiepolo (father and son) frescoes on every wall of 2 buildings and (3) Museo del forze Armate 1914-45 which closed at 4 pm so we missed it (and can't vouch for it) but it's very near (1) and (2) and La Rotonda. All in all a super memorable day and we highly recommend this unique touristic approach.

If you are looking for an immersive, historical experience in Vicenza, you have come to the right place. Manuel gave us a wonderful, contemplative tour of the Vicenza historic district setting the stage for visiting the museums and cathedrals. We road ebikes to Villa La Rotonda and the Valmarana Palace. Unfortunately we only had one day and quickly realized we should have booked a longer stay and had time to explore this truly incredible city.
This is a great way to get to know Vicenza and its Palladio heritage. Manuel provided us with a wonderful introduction and was most helpful throughout.
We were lucky enough to meet Manuel by chance entering the Palladian Classic venue. Since our entry he has been extremely friendly and competent in giving us some information, so after a short negotiation he agreed to be our guide for a three-hour tour. I was with a friend of mine and for both of us it was the first time in Vicenza, Manuel made us understand the deep essence of the city and the region giving us historical, cultural, anthropological and folklore information making our short stay in the city unforgettable. Highly recommended for everyone, especially those who want to go "Beyond" Grazie Manuel
Quite simply, the best tour I have ever taken. Manuel taught us to think about not only Palladio but our own times. Highly recommend!
I very rarely write bad reviews, however it is very important that people understand what they are getting before booking this tour. The day started on a bad note given Manuel had forgotten that he had booked our tour. After calling to remind him, he did come within half an hour. Mistakes happen so we accepted his apology and continued with the tour as planned. We booked this tour directly through the Palladian Routes website at a cost of 319 Euros for our family of four on the understanding that this was a 5-8 hour duration tour commencing at 9:30am and finishing at 5:30pm including all the sights listed. It is actually a 45 minute guided walking tour of the external facades of the Palladian buildings in Vicenza. You are then handed a map and a Vicenza museum pass to self guide around the sights of Vicenza completely independently. I understand that you can be given e-bikes to cycle yourself up to Villa Rotonda to tour the Villa. We felt the cost of this tour was excessive for a 45 minute guided tour despite the expertise of the guide. It represents poor value. I’d suggest avoiding the cost and to purchase the 26 Euro Vicenza museum family pass. It’s self guided in any case.
It was a good decision to choose the Palladian Classic tour. Our guide Manuel speaks Spanish correctly and has been very interesting in all his explanations in the walk through the city. The bike ride very fun and a magnificent option to visit Villa rotonda.
Complete knowledge of the works of palladium. Piazza dei Signori with the basilica of palladio, villa the roundabout just outside the city, corso palladio but above all is the Olympic theater, alone is worth the trip
Excellent tour. We were worried because it was raining, but Manuele did not cancel on us and we still had a great time. I recommend it if you are interested in Vicenza or architecture.
