View on Google MapsThe food tour of Joeri was really great!! Learned a lot about the city and very good food. I would do it again in another city anyway:)
The tour was fantastic! Our guide was a Utrecht resident who obviously knew and loved his home very much. He showed us around the city and delighted us with wonderful stories and delicious foods. Highly recommend!
What a wonderful experience! I highly recommend this walking food tour. We added a canal boat ride which was the icing on the cake. Joeri was amazing. Definitely request him. He knew so much about Utrecht and even gave us tips about Amsterdam. We tried all the popular Utrecht street food and were so full we couldn’t finish it all. Thank you Joeri for such a great experience. Utrecht is such a cool and beautiful city.

“Thought I knew Utrecht… then I did this tour with Otto.” I’ve lived just outside Utrecht for years and visit the city pretty often, but this tour still surprised me. Otto showed us spots I’d never noticed — and even at places I thought I knew, he added stories and background that made them feel brand new. The tastings were spot on: proper local bites, not watered-down tourist versions. I brought visiting friends with me and they loved it, but honestly I probably enjoyed it just as much. Highly recommend — even for locals.
After a challenging divorce and navigating the complexities of raising an autistic son, I found myself yearning for a change of scenery—a place where I could breathe, reflect, and perhaps find a semblance of peace. The walking tour in Utrecht, with its serene canals and rich history, seemed like the perfect escape. One of the most touching moments occurred when the guide noticed my son's autistic selective eating habits. Understanding the importance of familiar foods, the guide arranged for a warm stroopwafel—a traditional Dutch caramel-filled waffle cookie—to be offered to my son. The simple act of enjoying this treat together became a symbol of acceptance and care, turning a potential challenge into a cherished memory. Thanks you for this!
So glad we made time for Utrecht — this tour was the highlight! We came to the Netherlands for the first time and stayed in Amsterdam, but decided to spend one day in Utrecht. Honestly, we didn’t expect much — but this tour with Otto turned out to be one of the best parts of our trip. It was just me and my girlfriend, and Otto made us feel welcome right away. He showed us beautiful places, told great stories, and the food was way better than expected. Not small samples — real portions. The old church beer café was super cool, and we still talk about the stroopwafel. If you’re in Amsterdam, take a train to Utrecht and do this tour — you won’t regret it.
Tastings were generous and Otto felt like a friend showing us around Utrecht.” I booked this as a surprise for my partner while we were staying in Utrecht, and it completely exceeded our expectations. Otto was super friendly and knowledgeable, but it didn’t feel like a scripted tour — more like a relaxed walk through the city with someone who truly loves it. We tried everything from fresh stroopwafels to amazing cheese, and left absolutely stuffed (in the best way).
Booked this with my small team as a lil teambuilding thing — and honestly it was perfect. Otto was super friendly, told cool stories (the pope?? in Utrecht?? wild), and made everyone feel at ease. We laughed, we ate a lot, and people are still talking about the apple pie + the cheese stop. Way more fun than the usual stuff. Would def recommend for any team day.
What a great way to see and learn about Utrecht! Our guide Joeri was outstanding. Friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. We sampled everything from salted herring to chocolate cakes…chased by an occasional Dutch beer! Don’t want to forget to mention, we also had the best French fries with traditional Dutch mayonnaise and Indonesian peanut satay sauce for dipping. Overall, we visited half a dozen shops to sample typical Dutch cuisine and learned history along the way. Highly recommend this way to visit Utrecht, learn some history, and satisfy your appetite.
