Halil's passion and knowledge of the nature, history and geology of this place really shines through. To see some of the churches and chapels carved out of stone in the middle of a rock formation called a fairy chimney spire - and to be in places where it was just our small group - this is the gift of going off the beaten track to really experience this landscape by walking!
Oct. 2025 - We booked a tour with Erdin because we wanted some real trekking and a guide to accompany us on the discovery of Cappadocia. Erdin was much more than that! We started by hiking in the white valley after recharging ourselves with exquisite local juice. The hike surprised us with unexpected and wonderful views and we also discovered ancient houses carved into the rock and ancient churches. Erdin answered ALL of our questions and knows every inch of the valleys. We really recommend this tour and if we had more time, we would have done more. If you want to hike through Cappadocia, avoid van tours and discover the wonders of this beautiful region Erdin is your guy! We’ll spread the word in Italy, Grazie!! (Also, check out his website)

Halil, our guide was incredible. This was my favorite excursion in Greece. Halil led us on a 9 mile hike showing us sites and sharing historical facts we could not have found on our own. We tried fruits that grew in the valley and explored caves in this remote area. Really incredible. We had fresh squeezed juice at a break stop and a picnic in another. If you are worried about the mileage please know there are breaks. After the hike Halil drove us to a wine shop where we all enjoyed a glass of wine and conversation. Halil thank you for a fantastic day!
You NEED to do this!! It was by far the best day of my trip. I just finished my hiking day with Halil and it was one I will never forget. He knows SO much about the area and obviously loves what he does. He took so many pictures for me and knew everything about the history of the land. I learned so much! He is such a genuine and kind person. And the scenery is second to none! I kept looking around and wondering if it was real! I can’t emphasize enough how happy I am to have had this day with Halil. Trust me, you won’t regret this experience!
We wanted someone to guide us through a hike in the beautiful desert spaces of Cappadocia and show us the hidden beauty of the land outside of the touristic experiences that seem to involve shopping trips. We’re so grateful to Halil, our guide, with insider knowledge of the land who led us on an incredible 15km hike we could never have done on our own (indeed we met quite a few hikers who were very lost along the way and Halil helped direct them as well). We got to climb in to cave homes, ancient churches, and pigeon homes that we would have missed without him. He brought lunch, water and snacks, knew where the food resting spots were, and attended to our pace and energy. He even had spare walking sticks we could borrow. The landscape is stunning and having someone tell you what you’re looking at, as well as culturally interpret the experiences of the people lost to history is invaluable. Afterwards we finished with wine from Halil’s favorite wine shop in Avanos (chef’s kiss!) and were dropped off back at our hotel. It was like hiking with a local friend who loves the land and we cannot recommend this experience enough!
This was one of the best days on my trip around Türkiye. Halil was fantastic & absolutely great company. We walked at a good pace as I ended up being the only person booked for the day. So i was able to explore many caves with a little help. Halil is very passionate about his region & loves to share it with all who visit. He just kept feeding me the whole time! Perfect lunch break & we celebrated with a glass of wine at his local in Avanos. Thank you to all the reviewers before me, you are the reason I did this. A definite must, but you do need to be able to walk for 8hrs. The best way to explore the amazing valleys of Cappadocia.
The day hiking with Erdin was great, we were able to explore the different valleys around Göreme and were mostly alone on the way. Erdin is passionate about his region and it feels, he is inexhaustible on the history of Cappadocia as well as on the local flora and fauna. He knows the best passages and the best viewpoints all along the way, which makes it possible to take full eyes. He also knows perfectly all the rock churches to see on the way. The picnic was prepared in a small stand on the course with delicious orange juice and a splendid view. At the end of the hike we shared a glass of wine from a local farm in Avanos with his girlfriend. The day was fantastic from start to finish and helped make my stay in Turkey an unforgettable one. Thank you and recommend without moderation.
I had an awesome time with Halil doing this hiking tour while in Cappadocia. We covered quite a bit of ground, and went to several places in the white, love, rose and red valleys that I would not have gone to on my own. Halil was very friendly and knowledgeable, as we took several stops where he shared his knowledge of Cappadocian history. Would highly recommend for anyone visiting Cappadocia!
Halil was an excellent tour guide. He met us promptly in the morning and drove us to the hiking spot. We visited Rose Valley and Love Valley, and he provided a lot of great information that we didn’t get on other tours. We got to visit churches, caves and pigeon houses. Halil also took great photos, made a lovely lunch at a rest stop, and allowed us to sample Turkish dessert and wine at the end of the hike!
Our guide was fantastic, this was an amazing hike in the most scenic place , everything was taken care of, lots of local history and environmental awareness, all our needs were taken care of with great food , drinks and snacks as well as a lovely lunch. I would highly recommend this excursion.
