I am pleased to review Kamel Boukari’s 8-day tour of Tunisia. Kamel is a wonderful guide with decades of experience and connections to a wide variety of Tunisians along the way. And he knows his way through every twist and turn of every souk! I gained access to many places known only to Tunisians, where tourists don’t venture. An example of this is a warm welcome at a Berber cafe, high above houses carved out of sandstone. This was also evident in Kairouan, where I was given permission to enter the Mosque even though it was closed. The local guides that he provided spoke English, knew their communities well and shared interesting details that helped me understand their history and culture. Kamel is very knowledgeable about Tunisian history. He connects the significance of each site through the passage of time, starting with Carthage built in by the Phoenicians in 815 BC, then the Roman amphitheater in El Jem from 238 AD and the St. Vincent de Paul cathedral in Tunis built by the French in 1897. I enjoyed traveling with Kamel and our lively conversations. I hope to join him again on another tour.
Thank you for guiding us through the south of Tunisia ! From start to finish, Kamel was knowledgeable, engaging, and full of fascinating stories that brought the sights to life. His passion for south of Tunisia was evident in every detail they shared, making the experience both educational and entertaining. Also very thankful to have this experience in both, English and French languages which was very important to us as we had a multinational group. I highly recommend to contact Kamel to anyone looking to explore Tunisia in a fun and informative way. 🙏🏽 Thank you, Kamel, for making this such a memorable experience! 😊😉
