View on Google MapsI love food. So I often seek out a good food-related tour when visiting a new city. When I stumbled on the description of the Taste of Toulouse small group tour of the Victor-Hugo Market it seemed to fit the bill. But as soon as I met Jessica the morning of the tour, I knew this was going to be a particularly special day. While there was some nibbling along the way, much of the first part of the tour was more focused on learning about the food and what to look for. As we explored the market and met some of the vendors, Jessica gradually gathered items, putting them into her "Mary Poppins" bag. Then, after we had made the rounds, she brought our little group to a wine bar in the market, and set up a mouth-watering spread of the goodies she had purchased during the tour: cheeses, meats, foie gras, crusty bread, a pastry, all accompanied by a couple bottles of excellent wine. It made for a full lunch, and a great way to round out this tour that really felt like a love letter to the delicious offerings of Toulouse. I highly recommend!
The tour with Jessica just got better every minute. The local history, the Victor Hugo venue, the epicurean knowledge, the incredible food, and the pre-coordination with vendors all built the experience. The conclusion of the meal at/on the barrel was a gastronomical delight with a cheese that weakened the knees of my date. It was a perfectly balanced charcuterie with extras that lasted us for two more meals. The three hours spent flew by and was well worth it. I can't thank you enough for a highlight of our time in Toulouse!

This tour with Jessica was the highlight of my time in Toulouse. She is warm and knowledgeable, creating an experience that feels relaxed and effortless while being informative and interesting. I never felt rushed or overwhelmed - just genuine enjoyment! It truly felt like spending a perfect French morning with a friend who knows all the best spots. And her cheese selections knocked my socks off! Highly recommend!!
The Victor Hugo Market tour with Jessica was superb from start to finish! We thoroughly enjoyed the overview of the market history, layout, vendors and offerings as well as the lovely charcuterie and wine spread at the end. We really appreciated being able to ask questions throughout and get thoughtful, expert answers. It gave us the grounding we’d hoped for as we tour other markets in Toulouse and other cities we plan to visit in France. Well worth taking this tour!
I really enjoyed the market walking with Ally. Cassoulet is not the only gourmet food. Starting with delicious bread, ham, foie gras, cheese and finally dessert. Thank you for teaching me so much about food. The next morning, I went to the market again to buy souvenirs. I'm just going to go in hungry. Three hours passed in no time and I am very satisfied.
Absolutely blown away by Jennifer Kincaid and Taste of Toulouse! Jen’s passionate about regional food, wine, and culture . What an incredible depth of knowledge about the local markets, vendors, and local wines… truly special! Genuine warmth, humor, and enthusiasm. It wasn’t just about tasting; it was about understanding Toulouse through its flavors and people. One of those experiences that quietly stays with you. Jen will thoughtfully share her deep knowledge of the city’s food, wine, and culture. Take this tour and you’ll experience how each stop feels intentional. Her connection with the local vendors (e.g., Garcias) adds a layer of authenticity that made it all that more special. Every space visited, precisely curated. Whether we were sampling cheeses, discovering hidden gems in the Victor Hugo Market, or learning how to pair wines like a pro, I felt immersed in the best of Toulouse. Jen’s like a friend that’s welcoming you into the secret heart of her adopted city. So, first things first: visit Toulouse. And then when you do, do not miss this experience. It’s one of those rare tours that leaves you smarter, happier, and just a little more mildly jealous you weren’t born here.
This is a wonderful experience of sampling high quality local produce associated with the local area of Toulouse, including meats, cheeses, bread and wines, with interesting commentary, information and history. Danielle, our guide, made the experience very enjoyable with her friendly, professional approach, wide knowledge and interesting facts she provided us along the way. The tour lasted three and a half hours and was paced very well, ending with a lunch of cheeses, meats, pate and wines chosen throughout our tour. I would recommend this tour.
The Taste of Toulouse Experience is worth booking. From the time we were met by Danielle at the designated meeting point, we were shown all around the market and introduced to different market traders. The tour was very informative and Danielle is clearly passionate as well as very knowledgeable about Toulouse culture and produce. She made the tour well worth it and fun, too. The timing (3.5 hours) was spent well with lots of information and tasting opportunities. The lunch at the end comprised of meats, cheeses, traditional french bread and wines from the area. I highly recommend.
One of the highlights of our visit to Toulouse. Our guide Jenn gave us an excellent tour of the market along with its history and highlights of the various vendors. At the end we had a very diverse sampling of cheeses and meats. A must for any visit to Toulouse.
Danielle was delightful and informative. She has a great relationship with the vendors which makes the whole trip exceptional. The market is very good with a wide selection of meats, seafood, bread, cheeses and vegetables. Definitely take the tour! Save room for the wine and tastings at the end.
