View on Google MapsWe had a great time with Taka-san and his wife. Their hospitality went beyond simply teaching us a few authentic japanese recipes and culture. It was their warmth and kindness that stuck with us the most long after the experience. The thoughtful gifts for the kids as well as their patience in answering never-ending questions and sharing their knowledge will be forever cherished.
What a fantastic experience! We met Taka and Keiko, beautiful people! They guided us through folding Origami, making fresh Udon noodles from scratch, making Sushi, and cooking Tempura. Most enjoyable however was learning to write our names in Caligraphy and drinking Macha Tea the proper way. To top it off we were able to eat the food we created for lunch, YUMMY! We did so much that time seem to fly by, before we knew it we had to part, but we left with the feeling that we had made life long friends in Japan! We now belong to the Team Taka homecoming Family.
Taka and Keiko graciously welcomed us into their lovely home to share their knowledge and passion for Japan, its food and some of its art . Our 4 hours together just flew by Being able to prepare delicious food with experts gave me the tips and tricks that I can use at home ! The communication before the experience was excellent and the instructions for the meeting place were very clear. I particularly liked the photo of the man we were to meet ! Thank you Taka and Keiko for a great experience. It was so special to have met you 🙏
We visited Taka-san and Keiko-san for the first time two years ago. It was a wonderful experience, and we were excited to see them again when we returned to Tokyo this year. Our first visit was a great introduction to Japanese life and culture. Taka-san kept in touch by email after our trip, and our second visit was like returning to see family members. Keiko-san prepared us a delicious Japanese meal, and we sat and talked for hours. We had plans to go to the sumo tournament the next day, and Taka-san found the tournament on TV and explained the rules and rituals. We shared photos of our travels since our last meeting and caught up on events in our lives. It was a real joy spending time with Taka-san and Keiko-san, and we will be certain to visit them again next time we are in Tokyo. (And they are invited to visit us in the U.S. anytime!)
Such a special day spent with Taka-San and Keiko-San. They tailor made this experience perfectly to suit our needs and likes. They taught us so much about Japanese culture and about themselves. It was truly wonderful and homecoming is the perfect description. Taka and Keiko’s house is like being at home with friends. So glad we found this for our joint 40th birthday celebrations and Northern Ireland is now proudly the 36th country pinned on their map. Everything from the communication whilst booking to Keiko waving us off and Taka walking us back to the station was just great and we thank you. Arigato. Thank you again. We hope to be back to cook for you.
We had such a fun homecoming experience! We cooked traditional Japanese food - udon, sushi, and tempura, and everything turned out so tasty. We also made origami crowns, wrote our names in Japanese, and got so many thoughtful presents from Taka-san. It was a perfect mix of food, culture, and fun, such a special day!
This was my second trip to Japan and second visit with gracious and kind Taka and Keiko who we may now call not just old friends, but family. From our warm greeting and short walk to their lovely home, to seeing my teenage children light up and laughing while learning about Japanese culture and cooking, this experience really brought us together as a family. All five of us were impressed with how much we did and learned in the time we spent with Taka and Keiko. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, every activity thoroughly explained. They even hung a Happy Birthday banner for my husband’s birthday, which we were all charmed by. Furthermore, Taka took so many beautiful photos of us during the class and sent them right over! My oldest son is already planning to return to Japan with his girlfriend and take Taka and Keiko’s class during his trip. Thank you so much for making our Japan trip unforgettable. We hope to return soon.
We had a great time. Taka and his wife are hosts of great kindness. We learned a lot and shared during that day. Thank you.
THE BEST experience you will have in Japan! Taka and Keiko are among the nicest people I have ever met. Not only do they teach you how to cook traditional Japanese food in traditional methods, they welcome you into their home and treat you as family. The food was absolutely delicious. It was beautiful to see how much they value meeting other people. They are passionate about Japan, meeting and loving other people, and educating others about their home, country, and cuisine. I will be returning and bringing family with me. I think everybody should participate in this incredible experience!
A coworker tipped me this excursion and I have never been more happy in my life that I decided to follow up on that tip! I had such an amazing time. Taka and Keiko are both really kind individuals. It was cool to get a view in Japanese culture. I also really enjoyed the matcha and all the cute souvenirs I got.
