Milford Sound Full Day Tour from Te Anau with Cruise

We don not do much small group touring but found Luxe Tours very organised, flexible and our driver / guide Ian was fantastic. Can highly recommend to anyone considering, a memorable day and experience on the way to and in Milford Sound

It was raining the day we were scheduled to go to Milford Sound, but people said it was better on a rainy day as all the temporary waterfalls appear, both enroute through the Fiordland National Park, and in the fjord itself. We were in a 12 person van, but we only had 9 people including the driver, so we had some space to spread out. Suffice to say it was a very wet drive with many view spots to stop and take photos, so we did make things damp getting in and out of the van. But our driver Ian was always Johnny on the Spot with umbrellas for us to use at the stops, and the drive, which was several hours included toilet breaks and a tea and muffin stop took about 3 hrs up to Milford Sound and about 2+ coming back. The views are quite breathtaking along the drive and worth the trouble of hopping on and off. The cruise out the fjord on the boat was spectacular and all the scenery was worth the rain! We made some other stops on the way back and Ian provided interesting commentary throughout both the long rides. Would it have been more comfortable if it had been sunny? Yes. But I don't think the sights would have been as grand. Luxe Tours did a great job!

Brilliant day out , our guide Ian was great and kept us entertained for the whole trip. The scenery was amazing on the way there and Milford sound was awesome. The little extras like water ,coffee ,scones and extra space on the mini bus made the trip a pleasure .

We did a tour with you guys from Te Anau to Milford Sound with Nicky as our driver. It was a fantastic experience! As described, our minibus was modern, super comfy and seated ten. Nicky is passionate about Te Anau and the National Park surrounding Milford Sound. We had plenty of photo opportunities, especially as we drove towards Milford Sound. Nicky didn't accompany us during our 2 hour cruise on Milford Sound but we had an excellent commentary by a very knowledgeable young man. We saw fur seals and a Shy Albatross. The views were stunning and we were very lucky with the weather. However, we did get very wet when our boat got very close to the base of one of the waterfalls! Apparently the spray has rejuvenating properties! Would I recommend this company for your trip to Milford Sound? 💯%

Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. From the moment Ian, our guide, introduced himself to when we said thank you and goodby, as we were dropped of at the end of the day, Ian was truly amazing, a real credit to Luxe Tours. We cannot recommend Luxe Tours highly enough, the mini bus was brilliant, the water bottles a fantastic idea and something we will treasure, the narration delivered by Ian was extremely informative and interesting, the little packet of sweets the cherry on the cake. We stopped at some great places on our way to and from Milford Sounds which gave us the opportunity to take excellent photos to treasure and share. We had hot drinks and muffins at one of the stops, and everyone’s needs were taken into account and carefully considered throughout. We were so fortunate to have an amazing day, blue sky and calm water made for a perfect cruise with very informative narration. We saw dolphins and fur seals, an absolute delight. We cannot recommend Luxe Tours highly enough, just the right number of guests to allow for lots of quality stops. Brilliant thank you.

The tour more than exceeded our expectations. She was perfect. Our driver Ian was great. Totally friendly, attentive and has shown us many beautiful hotspots on the drive. It was always relaxed and super pleasant. He also gave us a helicopter ride over Milford sound with landing on a glacier. In good weather, simply awesome. It couldn't be better! The cruise itself was also stress-free, as the ship, as stated, was less than 50% occupied. 11 out of 10 points. Our best experience on the South Island.

We used Luxe Tours after reading positive reviews online and were not disappointed. From being promptly collected at our accommodation to drop off again after the tour, we had a wonderful time. The tour is professionally organised and uses very comfortable Mercedes minivans with only small groups unlike the coach tours. Added refreshment extras are included for guests which were much appreciated. Our guide Nicky was excellent with superb communication skills ensuring everyone felt comfortable and she was also very knowledgeable and able to answer all questions The stops we made enroute were very picturesque and only possible with smaller groups . Visiting Milford sounds was a fantastic experience and using Luxe tours meant we were fully able to enjoy the whole day with everything organised for us. I would highly recommend if you want a more personalised day.

Ian, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the National Park, flora, and fauna! He was very kind and patient with the entire group. Great trip!

Fantastic tour with Luxe tour-our guide was amazing, friendly and talkative - did know lots about plants, flowers, Milford Sounds etc-comfort was really luxe-bus with great space for everybody, water bottles, towels provided. We had an amazing boat trip at Milford sound and then again 2 stops at the way back to look at the amazing nature reserve.

Great guide and van driver. Good pacing of tour with some interesting stops on the way down. Comfortable bus with plenty of leg room. Appreciated the water bottle. Comfortable boat with plenty of room to view the sound from both inside and out.
