View on Google MapsThe trip was amazing. I flew myself but I was picked up by Ayuba from my hotel and taken the two hour drive to Mole National Park. I stayed in the park two nights and three days, and went on Jeep and walking tours, tracked elephants, saw hyenas, warthog, baboons, monkeys, crocodiles and numerous birds. We visited the 600 year old Mosque. Went canoing and also did a night safari. 🐘 are very easy to track because they leave such big prints but it was still truly amazing to encounter them in the jungle. The guides were very knowledgeable and Ayuba was attentive and helpful. I had an amazing time. I would highly recommend Ayuba and his team.
The Mole National Park is a world of its own, which showed me a completely different side of Ghana. I rode with Toufic from Accra almost across the country up to the north. So I didn't flew to Tamale. The Mole motel was basic but perfectly adequate for my stay. I did both a Walking Safari and a Driving Safari and we saw elephants on both. That is not always the case in December. To be sure, go there at the end of the dry season. Toufic has always been a wonderful companion and a very safe driver. It was a wonderful and personally absolutely enriching journey. I would also particularly recommend the canoe tour and the tour through the nearby village Mognori. I stayed in Mole for three nights and traveled with Toufic all the time. If you want to stay there on your own, you can ride to Larabanga and Mognori also by Taxi. At my stay we did have a little power shortage in Mole and the Wifi didn't work, but in this beautiful landscape you don't need much to be happy. :)

Toufic who was my guide in Accra and Ayuba who was my guide in Tamale NP are excellent people, friendly, punctual and professional. The park is beautiful, full of elephants, antilopes, crocodiles and many more animals. Tours can be done walking which is a great opportunity to feel nature. The visit to local communities gives good insights of their lives and habits. Communities are poor and much in need of support from tourism. Don't hesitate to bring note books and pencils for local schools.
