View on Google MapsFor those who want to briefly and thoroughly know the area of Lake Balton, this is the way. A trip of just over an hour, boarding the car on a ferry, visiting the major towns of the peninsula, Tiananmen and Baltonford. In October this was a time off for a seaside holiday that was quite cold. But the throwing colors are lovely. The driver Attila was excellent. Recommended a restaurant among the groves. It was great. Not very expensive. Drive carefully and safely.
Atilla was the best driver and guide. Very recommended this trip and Atilla. Wonderful views outside of Budapest

We had the most amazing experience with our guide, Balazs, on a day trip from Budapest to Lake Balaton. He picked us up in his beautifully restored 1965 mint green Volvo, which was such a unique and fun way to start the journey. Driving through Hungary in this epic classic car made us feel like celebrities — even coming from Hollywood, California, people were snapping photos of us everywhere we went! Balazs is a fantastic guide – knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about sharing his local history and culture. Along the way, he gave us fascinating insights into both Budapest and Balaton, and he always made sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. He took us to the most gorgeous lunch spot at Echo in Balaton, where the food and views were equally incredible. We crossed the lake, drank fresh sparkling water straight from the ground, and even watched the graceful brown swans. Every stop felt thoughtfully chosen and special. What really stood out was Balazs himself – friendly, personal, and accommodating to our requests, always going the extra mile to make the day perfect. By the end, it felt like we were exploring with a friend rather than just a guide. This tour was truly a highlight of our time in Hungary, and we can’t recommend Balazs highly enough!
Balazs was an amazing guide. Great character and good sense of humour. Very insightful. Balazs turned up in a fully restored 1965 Volvo Amazon! Amazing car, so unique. That really made the day. This was an awesome experience. Lake Balaton is beautiful ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Our family had a fantastic tour to Lake Balaton. The lake is lovely and our guide was fantastic. He changed the tour up and took us to a winery bc we said we like wine. He was so nice to my son and a great guide. He took us to a lovely restaurant on the lake. We all really enjoyed the day.
Highly recommend!!! We had an amazing time on this private tour. Attila was an amazing guide, very accommodating and made our day perfect !
We just spent a fabulous week 😍excellent staff, great food 😋Not to mention the animation nothing short of sublime led by the fantastic Cristian, We will definitely be back ❤️
Our guide Attilla picked us up at our hotel; Lake Balaton is an hour's drive from Budapest and is a wonderful place for a day trip. Loads of homes apparently rented out for people wishing to spend sometime there; beautiful small streets; there was even a small beach where we could feed ducks and swans. The most surprising part for us, as Indians, was that there's a Tagore walkway/square as Rabindranath Tagore had visited Lake Balaton during his Europe tour, when he had suddenly fallen ill. There's also a tree planted in his name. A host of other Indian ministers and dignitaries have also visited this stop and planted trees. We walked through one of the small villages; there was a shop selling lavender products including lavender icecream! Lunch was at this amazing place overlooking the River. Attilla was a huge Rubik fan, and was carrying with him the Rubik's Cube and a host of other games & puzzles, which kept us entertained.
See the countryside on this tour. Beautiful lake area. Charming homes with thatched roofs. Cute towns. Experienced a ferry ride across the lake back to the city. Nice to see something other than city sites while in Budapest. Our Guide Atilla was enjoyable and made sure we saw what we wanted to.
