Epic surf-lessons at beautiful Samara beach.

This was the highlight of our Costa Rica trip!!! We did two lessons with Tuanis Surf School and my little girls had the BEST time catching waves with Sofie and her incredible team. Sofie was communicative from the very beginning and we all felt at ease surfing. I highly recommend adding on the photography/video package. We look forward to another visit and surf session with Tuanis!!

I had an amazing time doing two private lessons with Sofie! I had only surfed twice before but loved the experience and managed to improve too - highly recommend!

The entire crew at Tuanis was and is amazing. Sofie and her crew met us at the beach on Christmas day, introduced us to our coaches for the session, and was super encouraging to everyone before we ever went near the water. Jafet was an incredible coach and guide for our entire week in Samara, and even stepped in last minute to give a lesson to my 8 year old daughter, who, with Jafet's coaching, stood up on the first wave she paddled for! Later in the week, Jafet and I met at a break about 30 minutes outside of town to surf some bigger waves, and with his coaching and encouragement I was able to catch and ride the best right of my life. I will recommend Tuanis to anyone at any time for any reason. They are some of the best, most passionate folks I've been able to meet, and I encourage anyone who wants to try surfing to let them guide you.

Tuanis Surf School was fantastic. We’re a family of five (two adults, 14yo, 11yo, 5yo) and had three instructors who were encouraging, clear, and incredibly hands-on. They stayed with us the whole time, gave constant feedback, and really paid attention to each person. We sat near other surf schools on the beach on two other days and noticed a big difference in instruction and attentiveness. Scheduling and email communication beforehand was also easy. Highly recommend Tuanis over the others.

Sofie and Rory are THE BEST!! Our kids surfed with them every day during our week in Sámara and it was the highlight of the trip. They learned so much - every day they built on what they learned the day before and Sofie and Rory gave them new “challenges” to complete. It was amazing to see their confidence and skills grow. Tuanis also picked surf times and locations that worked best for their skill levels. The only downside was saying goodbye at the end of the week - but we’ve promised to go back to Sámara to surf with Sofie and Rory again. Thank you guys for being so amazing with our kids - they miss you already!

The kids had an amazing time with Jafet. He was very patient and taught them not only surfing but all about the ocean. Sophie was very flexible and accommodating when two of us couldn’t make the lesson. Very easy to deal with and definitely recommend.

We had a fantastic time with our instructor, Jafet. He was very personable and a great teacher, showing us exactly what to do and offering suggestions/adjustments that were very helpful. I had zero surf experience and am generally not very athletic, but even I was able to catch some waves successfully. Communicating with Sofie to coordinate our surf time and confirming the meeting location was very easy through WhatsApp. All around a great experience, we highly recommend it!

We visit Samara every summer, and this year we were lucky enough to discover Sofie and Tuanis Surf School. Our daughter started surfing in Samara when she was seven, and has always really enjoyed it. This summer, at age ten, she surfed with Sofie at least a dozen times and had an absolute blast. Our daughter also really improved her technique this year. Sofie couldn't have been nicer and is a top notch instructor with a variety of boards for different skills levels. We can't wait to surf with Sofie when we're back!
