View on Google MapsJavier our guide was really great, his humor had no equal in Iceland! he explains everything and gives plenty of anecdotes especially about the mills and others (I let you discover what it is) on the return we could even pretend to drive his huge 4x4 that was used to go to the start of the hike, then we went on the glacier with the crampons (by the way I advise you jacket pants and shoes completely waterproof, they rent them if necessary ) after a good little walk we arrived in the ice cave. Amazing day to do at least once!
Javier was amazing today! His happy energy and great knowledge made the tour truly special. He’s super friendly, easy to hear, and shares his passion along with lots of interesting extra information about Vatnajökull. Come and go with him to take the best photos and chill in the ice caves. Thanks for the unforgettable experience!
This tour was by far the best part of our trip to Iceland. The glacier was amazing! It was so much fun to spend several hours observing different structures (caves, holes, crevices, etc.). Everyone in my family loved it (two teens and two middle-aged adults)! Valentin and Barbara were both great guides - showing us lots of interesting things and keeping everyone safe. They also helped everyone take amazing family photos with the gorgeous blue background. Finally, communication was fantastic before the trip with timely email responses to questions. Highly recommend!
Epic experience! Guides were friendly, super knowledgeable, and always made sure we were safe. Views were awesome! Def recommend!
We had an amazing time! Visited two different caves and had an amazing experience - well organized and great guide! highly recommend
We did the Glacier and Ice Cave tour with Ice Explorers, and it was such an amazing experience! Our guides, Evan and Guillermo, were fantastic and super friendly, knowledgeable, and always making sure everyone felt safe and comfortable. The group had about 11 people, and they gave us all the safety gear, including helmets, crampons, and even harnesses (though we didn’t need to use them). The glacier hike was tougher than I expected, but totally worth it once we reached the ice cave. The different tones of blue inside were absolutely stunning, and the scenery all around was breathtaking. Evan and Guillermo explained everything clearly and were really attentive to anyone who needed a little extra help along the way. Overall, it was an unforgettable adventure, I’d 100% recommend Ice Explorers and these two guides!
I had an amazing time with my sister while doing this glacier hike. Our guide, Javier, was incredibly informative, quirky, and a joy to be around. He made sure our whole group was safe and secure while guiding us across the ice. He had an extensive background in mountaineering and it showed when he set up a guided rope down into an ice crevice for us to walk inside. It was also a nice bonus to be able to speak Spanish with him, while being far from home. For the time we spent, the views, and the unique experience I’d say the tour is worth it!
Guillermo was amazing. Clear explanations, very knowledgeable and fun person. Enjoyed learning about glaciers and seeing once in a lifetime sites.
Very extraordinary tour with many different impressions of a glacier: Abseiling into glacier depression, glacier cave, tunnel, waterfall, vortex, with crampons from the glacier gate to the glacier tongue; great guide who contributed very interesting facts and could generate experiences for eternity.
Amazing tour with our guide Susanna. She shared her knowledge with us, which was really interesting and took great photos on top!! Would definitely recommend booking a tour with her.
