View on Google MapsSofia becomes your local guide, driver and photographer in one person so that you do not need to hire three people 😃 . It's recommended to contact her in advance and agree on tour details as she can adjust the tour exactly according to your needs to visit exactly what you want (if you don't know, you can leave it up to her, too). The pickup time in Sintra can be adjusted; it's not a problem at all to get to Sintra by a local cheap train from Lisbon center. Some of them run as frequently as every 10 minutes even in winter. We went on a rainy day and Sofia did her best to make it enjoyable and to make sure we catch everything that was possible as we wanted. She also gave us a lot of information about history and took a lot of pictures of us during the trip. We can only recommend her.

We had a very nice day in Sintra with Sofia's guidance. She told us a lot of stories and took us in very nice places. Thank you, Sofia!
Enjoyed the day checking out the highlights including Pena palace, the gardens, the coastline and the Old town. Sofia was very informative and knowledgeable!
Our guide, Sofia was lovely. The visit to the Quinta da Regaleira was very complete, entertaining and instructive. Food in a typical restaurant in Sintra super rich and well priced. We had a spectacular Portuguese bake. In general the whole excursion is highly recommended.
We had such a wonderful experience with Sofia during our visit to Sintra, Portugal in May. By complete luck, we met her right after getting off the train — and it turned out to be the best thing that could’ve happened! Our original tour plans had fallen through, but Sofia stepped in and gave us an unforgettable day. She guided us away from the crowds to hidden corners and scenic spots we never would have found on our own. Sofia’s knowledge, warmth, and genuine love for her country made the experience truly special. We laughed, learned, and enjoyed every minute. We’re so happy to see Sofia starting her own company — she’s exactly the kind of passionate, professional, and personable guide you want when exploring Portugal. We can’t recommend her enough!
Very personal experience. It was just the two of us with Sophia. She is very passionate and knowledgeable about Portuguese history and culture and how these influences have shaped the Portugal we see today. If you’re looking for authentic Portugesa experience - I would recommend her.
If you have ANY interest in visiting the sites in Sintra, I would highly recommend a tour with Sofia! My husband and I were traveling with our friends to Portugal, and we decided to stay in Sintra for a couple of days so we could see more of the sites rather than just doing a day trip from Lisbon. When planning our trip, I booked a tour with Sofia because it was easy to customize the specific sites that we wanted to see--Quinta de Regaleira and Pena Palace. Sofia is a Sintra native, a font of knowledge, and incredibly kind and personable. We learned so much, and we even saw some additional sites she recommended--Palácio de Seteais, Azenhas do Mar, and the most western point in Europe. At each landmark, Sofia knew her way around so it was easy for us to navigate to the specific areas that we wanted to see and she brought us to some of the most scenic locations for photos. Additionally, prior to our tour, she asked about any physical limitations and food allergies. For lunch, she recommended a fantastic local restaurant that was able to accommodate nut, legume, and gluten allergies! Overall, we had a fantastic day and experience with Sofia, and at the end of our trip to Portugal, our group agreed that the guided tour in Sintra was the highlight of our trip.
We had Sofia Pena custom design a day trip including Sintra highlights, Cabo da Roca, and Cascais. She was a fabulous guide, so personable and knowledgeable about her beloved Sintra area. We would recommend her over and over. We have even invited her to come visit us in the US. Do yourself a huge favor and book a tour with Sofia!
When we met Sofia, she understood our needs and was empathic about our situation right away. We were travelling with my 80 years old mother. She made a tailored tour with us at a fair price. She knows so much about Sintra, Lisboa and Portugal in general. She is one of the ´good human’ so hard to find. We highly recommand Sofia if you need a private guide.
