View on Google MapsAwesome experience. I strongly recommend Made Winarti - she is the best guide, takes care off and has a lot of patience. Hike up and down is not easy but is worth it! I’ll definitely will come back to do sunset hike
We're experienced hikers, but this was challenging (but not exhausting in the way a hike might usually be) because of the heat and humidity. We did the climb up in two hours and about an hour the way down, but it is steep almost entirely up and going down is a moderate incline almost entirely down. The scenery is stunning and well worth it, however. I strongly recommend our BRILLIANT guide, Made, who checked in with our group of 4 right the way through, was happy to stop as often as we needed, and on one occasion very kindly held my backpack for a short while to help me cope with a section of the climb. She also shared her local knowledge of the area, which was insightful. She was professional and very friendly.
Made was an excellent guide and made sure our small group got up and down the mountain safely. I found the descent difficult with the steep sandy terrain but Made was there every step of the way to help. The views from the top were incredible, well worth the early start. There were lots of monkeys at the summit too which was a nice surprise!

Our guide and driver were right on time to scoop us up. It was crazy cloudy at the top so the sunset didn’t show up, but the views were still next level.
The whole experience was a vibe, even though the hike wasn’t a walk in the park—bit of drizzle made it trickier. Big thanks to our guide Gede who was super helpful and even snapped some epic pics for us. 10/10 would recommend.
I would think it’s not an easy trek but the guide is there to help. Chose sunset trekking for a different experience, the hike down after sunset is pretty dark so got to be careful. Overall recommended if you want to work your legs!
Our guide, Made, was incredible and the best guide we could’ve asked for. She constantly checked on us and asked if we wanted breaks or if we wanted to stop for photos. She was happy to go at our pace and helped us at the challenging spots to ensure we wouldn’t fall. She was also very friendly and was lovely to chat with. I’m glad we did the private tour so we could go at our own pace. The hike was very challenging since it’s done in the dark. Two of us ended up taking a bike to the top while the other completed the hike. The views at the top were extremely beautiful, even though it was a bit cloudy. It also drizzled a bit, but nothing a warm jacket and a poncho couldn’t handle. We were also given a breakfast at the top with sandwiches, boiled eggs, snack bars, bananas, snake fruits, and hot chocolate.
Our guide Winartyck took us on an exceptional hike up Mt Batur. She looked after us all the way, breakfast at the top and on our way back down. Highly recommended hike and guide
Our tour guide was fantastic this morning. He was friendly, knowledgeable about the volcanoes and Balinese culture, and spoke good English. The hike up Mt. Batur is challenging but worth the early start. We were back at our Ubud accommodation by 10 am. This company is very easy to deal with and highly recommended.
We had a fantastic day with our guide Gede, who was an absolute star! Knowledgeable, helpful, and patient, she ensured we had the best spot for the sunrise and took plenty of photos for me. Two of my favorite photos of the sunrise and monkeys were taken by Gede. It's an experience I will never forget.
