View on Google MapsOkie and her trainee gave us a great tour of Sapporo . The snow fell steadyi but we were dressed for it. Definitely need to dress in insulated gear, hat, sturdy snow shoes since the roads are slippery. Umbrella is handy. Everything was a short walk sround central Sapporo. I’m was very organized and the meeting place at the clock tower was convenient. The view from the Sapporo tv tower was great. The sushi lunch was delicious and elaine.minami@gmail.com walked around the fish market after the tour. I would highly recommend this tour.
The tour felt so short! Iku it’s a local from Hokkaido so she knows a lot and it’s very entertaining, funny and sweet! The tour was for me and another couple, and she took us through all the main spots in Sapporo, and gave us a lot of recommendations and places to go! I really enjoyed it.
Tom was patient and informative. Route was good and so was lunch. We didn’t expect to be taken up the tower.

This tour is an excellent choice if you are short on time but want to guarantee you see the key highlights in Sapporo. It was very efficient, clocking in at about two hours, and we still managed to visit places like the Clock Tower, the statue of Otomo Kametaro, and get those great city views from the top of the TV Tower. The highlight, besides the food, was the Hokkaido Shrine Ton-gu. Since this was my first shrine in Japan, Tom took the time to explain all the expectations and customs, which made the visit meaningful. He even helped me start my shrine stampbook (goshuin)—a beautiful souvenir that combines calligraphy and stamping. We wrapped up by exploring the lively fish market, and Tom took me to a hidden local spot inside. I'm a big sushi fan, and the sashimi I had there was, without a doubt, the best I've ever eaten. The true difference-maker was the guide, Tom. I ended up being the only person booked, and it wasn't awkward at all; it truly felt like just hanging out with a knowledgeable friend. Tom is super personable and incredibly well-informed, which made the whole experience enjoyable for a solo traveler. While I could have navigated to these spots myself, the history, cultural context, and local insight Tom provided were invaluable. If you're looking for a short, high-impact experience in Sapporo, this is the one to book. Highly recommend this tour!
We wanted a less than all day introduction to Sapporo, this was a perfect way to start our visit. Our guide, Niku, was excellent - friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. She’s a Hokkaido native, and her English was very good. Best part for me was the view from the top of the tv tower.
My friends and I booked the Sapporo Nijo Market seafood lunch and Local History Tour. Our guide,Tom, is excellent and very informative. We enjoyed the tour and Seafood lunch. Would recommend tour! Thanks Tom!
Tomoaki was very friendly & knowledgeable about the history of Sapporo. We always enjoy walking tours because we can learn a little about each place we visit. Tomoaki also gave us suggestions of other places to see within Sapporo & good places to eat. We really enjoyed this walking tour & the seafood lunch. Hokkaido has the best seafood.
This was a great end to my Sapporo trip! The tour could easily be a good start to your trip as well, as it covers all the important sights in the center of the city and even includes the ticket up to the observation deck of the Sapporo TV Tower. Tom was such a fun guide to be led around by and he gave us all interesting tid bits and the history of Sapporo. At the end of the tour he led us to a really good kaisendon place at Nijo market which rounded off an overall great tour :)
5/5 Tom was a great host. He was very informative and knew a lot about the history of Sapporo. Would easily recommend this tour for anyone. The sushi lunch was amazing.
Despite the short duration of the program, I learned about the rich history of Sapporo and visited the sites where the historical milestone events had occurred. Lunch at the fish market was delicious; fresh seafood ingredients feeling like a local customer. An excellent program packed with the information and hands on experiences about Sapporo. Highly recommended
