London SW5 9TB, UK
View on Google MapsTour guide didn't show nor did they cancel. At 0830 (tour start time) my booking was still showing as active in Viator system. When I called tour company they said it was canceled but I wasn't notified due to glitch in Viator system. Ruined my vacation as Stonehenge was only reason I visited London this Europe trip. Still haven't received refund or apology. This is my first and last experience with Viator. To be transparent the trip was on New Years Day so possible tour company couldn't get a guide willing to work in Holiday but I booked several weeks prior and wasn't notified of cancelation and as stated booking was still Active in Viator site under my bookings after tour start time. At least refund my money it was over $150.
Overall the tour was an enjoyable experience although we rushed to make it to designated site on time that morning only to find the bus ran 30 minutes late. The tour allowed for a 90 minute self walk which really was not enough time due to the large crowds and ques for buses to the site and back once we arrived at Stonehenge. Overall mildly disappointed but at least convenient as far as transportation to the site itself goes.

Visiting Stonehenge was great, however, be careful who you book with! If you book with Anderson Tours be sure to double check, triple check and record the bus driver giving you your departure time! Because we were stuck in traffic for an extra hour on the way out, the tour was also cut short by 1 hour to have just a 1 hour visit! (FYI, The visitor centre recommends 2 hours for a short visit.) Long story short, I heard the driver say that departure time was 1:35 and was happy thinking that we would still get our 2 hours. My fiancé and I went to the stones and was back from the stones by 12:30 so we decided to take a look around the gift shop and grab a quick bite before getting back on the bus. Since there was only ‘9’ of us on the bus (two families and us), we noticed that we didn't see anyone else around while we were waiting for the bus at 1:15 (we thought early). My fiancé said that the driver told him 1:25 but was beginning to think that the others came back earlier and the bus had already left. His instincts were correct. A Stonehenge employee called the Anderson office for us and they said that the driver gave a 12:35 departure time. If there was 30 people on the bus I could understand leaving us. However, there was ‘9’ of us and had the drive just popped into the gift shop, he would have seen us. (I had made a purchase at 12:44 and had spent time browsing prior to the purchase.) I have to say that we have travelled all over the world and departure times given to us are always taken seriously. We always arrive 10-15 mins early and we have NEVER been late for anything! Regardless, this trip cost us an additional 80 pound train ticket back to London and that’s with a ride into Salisbury from a lovely Stonehenge employee who had just finished her shift. From now on I will be recording departure times from bus drivers/tour operators.
Friendly Driver. Pick up was in good area and Driver was ON TIME. 1 1/2 Hour is ENOUGH time to visit Stonehenge. so 1/2 Day tour was feasible.
Basically this is a bus ride to Stonehenge from London with ticket admission. Once at Stonehenge you receive your admission ticket and then a recorder that explains the specifics about Stonehenge as you walk around the site.
