View on Google MapsMe and my sister were given this as a Christmas present. It was a lot more fun than I was expecting. I'd definitely go back if it wasn't so expensive and I would've liked to have more than two flights because it seemed to be over too quickly.
My two grandsons aged 9 and 5 were given iFly experiences for Xmas present from their uncle. The boys, their mum, uncle and me attended on Saturday 17th January. Our 9 year old has autism. Our instructor was Jordan. Our 9 year old asked for a full description of the mechanics and machinery and got very stressed about precise times (all very typical with autism) but he wanted so much to experience the physical flight. Sadly the sensations of the flight suit & helmet were very distressing for him and the loud noise of the powerful air fan and the force of the wind on his face proved intolerable for him from a sensory perspective, which was a real shame because mentally he really wanted to do it. I would like to commend Jordan the instructor for his extraordinary patience and kindness with our lad; Jordan had a good insight and was so supportive. It was important to him that our lad was able to get the best out of his experience and nothing was too much trouble. I want to thank Jordan for that because even though the flight experience was limited, our lad came away with a positive memory. Our 5 year old on the other hand was a natural and did the high fly twice! I would recommend this experience for anyone of any age. We had a great time as spectators too. Thank you iFly Basingstoke.
My daughter came with her friend to celebrate her 10th birthday. She was so anxious she was crying during the safety briefing. James the instructor was fantastic and deserves a special mention. He took time to come and speak to my daughter and reassure her and her questions. She was really terrified and he got her feeling much more at ease and smiling. I really didn’t think she would do it but James made her feel really comfortable and she had a brilliant time! James is a real credit to this place and I thank him for his wonderful encouragement!
£90 for 3 minutes. We “flew” for a grand total of 3 minutes. We paid £50 plus an extra £40 to go “up high”. That meant 30 seconds higher up the chamber. Nice to do - people very nice - but I cannot imagine worse value for money.
Really fun activity. Our instructor Owen was reassuring and professional. My friend and I wanted to do something a bit different and we loved it.
Today the 26th of September 2025 our instructor Richard was absolutely amazing he was very formal with everything that we had to do and he made me and my son feel very at ease about flying as we were both nervous and I would just like to thank him for that and we are excited to come back in the future from Claire an Preston x
Arrived very early but no problem, my time was rearranged without any fuss by the very pleasant and friendly young lady at the desk. Discovered that it was a one to one trip and the young man was very pleasant and chatty. He explained what would happen and checked I had remembered the signs then kitted me out. Went into the chamber had my first flight great fun. Second flight I had booked to fly high absolutely brilliant!!!!!!!.
Our family had a fantastic experience today with Jordan at iFLY Basingstoke. We booked 4x two-flight sessions and 2x video packages using Tesco vouchers (so free!). The whole experience was amazing, and my children enjoyed themselves so much that we decided to pay for an extra flight at £20 each. It was absolutely worth it, especially having not paid anything initially, as they were more relaxed and really got the most out of their flights. We have already booked to return in March, taking advantage of their special return offer of £119.99 for 10 flights, which can be shared between up to 5 people. This is such a brilliant deal, and since I knew the girls would want to come back, it made perfect sense to purchase it on the day. The viewing gallery is great too, you get to see everyone fly right in front of you, and the instructors add to the fun by being quite comical (as are some of the flyers!). It is also very accessible for spectators to take their own photos and videos, which I think can actually be better quality than the purchased ones. Our flight time was at 11:30 and we were finished by 12:15, so if you are travelling from further away it might be a good idea to combine it with another activity in the leisure complex. There looks to be a swimming pool, bowling, ice skating, and a cinema all nearby, so we plan to make more of a day of it next time. Thank you for such a brilliant day - I have never seen so many smiles before (or was it wind face?).
Great experience, had rich as an instructor and he was amazing!!! Very easy to get on with, very clear about his instructions and very fun to fly with! Definitely recommend!
Odd one this. And yes, it should be a spectacular experience, instead it's a well oiled sales machine. The 2 x 1mins you spend in the tunnel is fine but before you go in you are pitched a £20 added fee for what they call a high ride, which is the instructor taking you or your child higher up the wall for about 10 seconds. If your child doesn't want that then it's 2 x twirls in the tunnel with a quick hold for you to take a snap and then back to the bench. If you don't buy the virtual reality package or other extras you are bypassed and simply spend 10mins watching the others. Pretty dull for youngsters. Added in conversations and placed on the wall are various options to buy more things and at the end there is a pitch on coming back, vouchers and recommending to others. The instructor went through the motions but perked up when they demonstrated their acrobats in the tunnel. By far the longest anyone spent in it! Finally our time slot was listed and we were asked to arrive 45 mins before for preparation. In actuality the whole experince took 50mins. We walked out the building 5 mins after our alloted time slot was listed. Rushed through it seems. The next group already in the tunnel as we walkd out the derig room. So, what is this, ifly is billed as a spectacular experience. It offers something unique but the experience could be so very much more, maybe they could give some background, offer some dky diving tips, present some excitment, give it a dynamic. if a child isnt hugely able or struggles to lie flat given them more support, management. Here it was driven by just getting things done and as quickly as possible. £50 spent in less than a few mins in the tunnel and just about an hour in the building! It is what it is but ultimately its not really very much. Plan something else to do around it. And take your fat wallet!
