View on Google MapsWe didn’t know what to expect going in, but overall we had a great time. The staff are super accommodating, friendly, and sweet. They helped us how to make takoyaki with genuine sincerity and care. The place itself is tucked away in a small alley, so I would recommend searching Shodo Cafe. You will see the sign with a crane and take the stone stairs up to the bar/cafe. When we walked in there was a different group doing calligraphy and another group doing art/stamp work, which is why when searching on Google the address or area may show different businesses. We chose the all-you-can-drink + takoyaki package and they were very accommodating in providing as many drinks as desired. The takoyaki process was simple and they had us cut the octopus, onions, and other ingredients. Overall we highly recommend this experience because of the service and staff. They really make you feel like you’re family and we an excellent time with them.
This was a very fun experience and I would highly recommend it. The hosts went above and beyond, were very friendly and welcoming to us and really made the evening! We always had quick refills on our drinks and had plenty of Takoyaki to cook for the entire family. I would say this is less of a formal cooking class and more of a fun night out making Takoyaki. It was much better than I expected because our fantastic hosts turned it into a fun night of Karaoke. A definite bonus and it made the night one we will never forget. We would definitely do it again!

Other than difficulty in finding the location in the middle of a huge thunder storm, it was a great way to get out of the rain. Kana and her friend Asami were fun hosts (and patient with my Japanese), while the Takoyaki was very tasty! Not to mention the endless Lemon Sours! Very enjoyable!
My first Takoyaki was in Osaka. There are lots of Takoyaki restaurants in Osaka. I really liked Takoyaki and wanted to know how to make it. Then I looked for experience and found this cooking class in Tokyo. It was so fun and easy to make it!! Absolutely delicious!! I will make them for my family when I back home. Highly recommend if you like Takoyaki!
I am from LA and visited Japan during Sakura season. This place was so unique and a great atmosphere. I loved their TAKOYAKI cooking class!! I have no idea how Japanese people manage to make everything so good!! Amazing!! The staff are so friendly and go above and beyond to make sure that you are happy. The TAKOYAKI cooking class was unique and I’ve learned how to make one. (not that I am good ) Tomoko and Kana were incredibly friendly and made sure that me and my friends were happy. If you are there, try their Japanese Whiskey flight. Fresh and Hot TAKOYAKI goes amazing with Japanese whiskey!! Needless to say the TAKOYAKI were bombs!! (So tasty) 👅 Better than some of the Japanese street food that I’ve had.
