Private Full-Day Trip to Jurmala and Great Kemeri Bog Boardwalk

This was an amazing trip with a friendly driver. The sights were remarkable and appropriate for all age groups.

Following an excellent day previously with Normunds visiting Lithuania and Rundale Palace, we decided to book Normunds again the day after for a day trip to Jurmala and the national park. We visited the Baltic Sea which was stunning with the snow. It was so quiet and not many people around. We walked through the pine forest towards the sea and Normunds waited for us and helped us with the route. We visited a lovely cafe and explored the Jurmala area. We learned so much information about the area that we wouldn't have known otherwise. The national park was also so beautiful in the snow. We really enjoyed our two days with Normunds who was professional, kind and it was excellent value for money. I would highly recommend coming to Latvia in February to avoid the crowds and you will have most places to yourself! We were lucky with the snow and blue skies and although coldish the weather was perfect. I would highly recommend Latvia as a destination and if you do visit definitely take a tour with Normunds. :)

En ren vacker stad med ett gulligt gamla stan där serveringarna duggar tätt på fina torg mellan gamla byggnader och kyrkor. Mat och dryck är billigare än i Sverige. Vi tog tåget till Jūrmala, en exklusiv by med fina restauranger och en fantastisk sandstrand, fortfarande billigare än hemma, tåget tog 25 min från centralstation. Bakom stationen finns som bonus en gigantisk marknad. Vi tog också en flodtur, bra sightseeing som gör det lättare att hitta guldkornen. En drink på takbaren på Radisson gör också att man får en kartbild i huvudet, fantastiskt utsikt.

Had a very nice day. Normunds Heincis, our guide, arrived well on time. Driving towards the coast, Normunds told a lot about the history and showed the different building styles. The day was well organized in terms of time, everything is negotiable. Normunds speaks good English and is open to any question. After the walk through the swamp we returned home safely. It was a pleasant, informative day with a nice and good guide. Can definitely recommend Normunds!

Normunds went out of his way to give the weather update 1 week prior and let us know we can change the tour route anytime if not comfortable in snow also offering other alternatives. 100% flexibility during tour as well - everything at your pace and comfort. Absolutely amazing day - picked up from hotel and taken to jurmala and kemeri bog with Normunds who is a fantastic tour guide. Everything was perfect - lots of information given about the history of Latvia and seeing the places that interested us. Couldn’t fault the day, personalised to cater for what we wanted and 100% recommend!

Four of us had a great day trip with Normunds out of Riga. The trip to Jurmala and then Kemeri National Park didn't involve a large amount of driving but enabled us to experience parts of Latvia that were very different to the capital city. Normunds was very personable and knowledgeable about the area and happy to suggest other interesting stops along the route. All in all we were very pleased with the day out and it was good value for the four of us.

My husband and I took this tour with our guide, Normunds, and it was truly an exceptional day. While Jurmala is just outside of Riga, it is a totally different place with deep forests and the Baltic Sea. We walked the beaches by the sea and the open air museum, where we really got a sense of how Latvians had and have lived there and prospered with all the natural resources. Gorgeous area! We then had a lovely afternoon strolling the streets of Jurmala City, stopping for an authentic Latvian lunch. Normunds is an ethnic Latvian and encyclopedic in his knowledge of history, culture and many things uniquely Latvian. He was an absolute delight on all levels and this was actually the second day we spent with him as we so enjoyed our first tour to some castles. I highly recommend this tour and tour group. You will end your tour day feeling that you have learned a lot in the context of a fabulous day!
