View on Google MapsGreat authentic Icelandic food and history lesson along the way. Wonderful experience and Jan our host was tremendous and friendly. We ended up seeing great northern lights throughout the walking tour. Spectacular dancing colors. Be prepared to eat a lot. Great food.

Come hungry, and be prepared for a culinary adventure. Culture, customs and cuisine with your new best friend in Rejkavik. Svendi was a consummate host.
Wonderful food tour! Interesting yummy food and our guide gave alternative options for those with food sensitivities and preferences. He also shared a lot history to understand Iceland better and recommendations for our stay. Take this tour!
A great tour, visiting interesting places to eat and drink. Jon our guide was knowledgeable about thr place and food and drink. Will return to revisit all the places on the tour.
We had a fantastic evening tasting a range of excellent food & drinks in Reykavik, exploring the city, and learning about Icelandic history & culture. Our host Sven was friendly, engaging & knowledgeable and we really enjoyed talking with him about Iceland’s food culture & production. Highly recommended!
Perfect Introduction to Reykjavik! After researching all the other walking food tours I chose this one and am so thankful I did! To start off, the company was quite helpful at answering any questions prior to the tour as it was my first time in the land of fire and ice, and a solo trip at that. I would highly recommend Jon for this tour, he was fun, knowledgeable, kind, and overall a great guide for a night of fantastic food, drinks, and history. I took this tour on the second day of my vacation, towards the end of Novemeber. The church was a beautiful meeting place to take in the beauty of the city. From there, we walked to various places for food, drinks and little tidbits of information. Jon was receptive and eager to answer any questions of food, shopping, history and all things Reykjavik. Every stop was perfectly choreographed for the best possible experience! Which honestly I wasn't expecting when signing up for a food walking tour. The first stop was the best cozy experience to be introduced into iceland, there was rye bread and fresh whipped butter that is a must try, along with a mini adventure of the taste buds not soon forgotten. All of the drinks were great with the ability to chose based on one's palate. The food was preset but absolutely delicious in every place we went, we even were taken to a local spot where Jon brought some treats from local farms that we wouldn't be able to try anywhere else! The end of the tour was perfect making me feel like the adult version of a 'kid in a candy shop' which was then paired with the best fish dish I had the entirety of my trip! Jon expertly curated this tour to include just the right amount of food, drinks and information and this tour is an absolute must for anyone coming to visit iceland. I would recommend taking this tour the first or second day of the trip as it helps set up where to go, what to eat, shop, drink, etc. 10/10 would take this tour again if I get the chance to come back!
Fun, informative and yummy stuff!! It was just my local friend, me (visiting) and the guide, Jon. He does bigger groups of course, but it was just the three of us on a Tuesday evening and it was perfect. Jon is extremely knowledgeable about everything Iceland, from its geological history, cultural history and of course Iceland’s culinary history as well. Highly recommend this tour with Nordic Nonsense and Jon!
Firstly thank you so much Jon for waiting for us due to our delayed flight. Cannot recommend this tour enough, such a fantastic experience walking this beautiful city and sampling its delights guided by a knowledgeable and passionate local learning some of Iceland’s and Reykjavik’s history. The food and beers were fantastic (maybe not the fermented shark) the highlight was the surprise cured lamb with cheese. This is possibly the best cured meat I have ever eaten. Book it you won’t be disappointed.
