View on Google MapsI reached out to Jamie & Angela from Let’s Go Ecuador for a day tour to the Otavalo Market, and they were super responsive. They answered all our questions clearly, and we felt very comfortable communicating with them. Our guide for the day was Freddy, and he was excellent. He arrived punctually at our hotel, and we felt very safe with his driving. The car was well-maintained, and he had such a calm and fun demeanor. We chatted about many different topics, and he was incredibly knowledgeable about Ecuador. Since we don’t speak Spanish, he kindly haggled on our behalf and helped us get fair prices. He even carried our bags for us—such a thoughtful gesture! I highly recommend booking with Let’s Go Ecuador Tours. I personally love shopping, and Otavalo Market is amazing. There’s so much to buy, so I recommend starting early, around 6:30 a.m., to make the most of your time. Be sure to bring cash, especially smaller bills ($5, $10, $20), and carry a shopping bag for all your purchases. The market is vibrant, colorful, and full of unique items—I could easily spend five hours shopping here. It’s such a cool experience!
We had a spectacular time with Freddy. He is a fantastic host and very knowledgeable. He brought us to a nice market as well as an indigenous weaver. Everyone was very friendly and seemed to know Freddy. He also brought us to a great restaurant where we enjoyed lunch. Freddy really made the trip special for us.

The plan of the tour was together - we said what we want and they put the plan to meet our wishes. The tour was un a privat car. The driver was excelent very calm and know the ways perfect. The guide was very good. we could get all he needed information hustory, plants, birds, animels. We were interested in knowing the people of Ecuador and we got a very nice insight of the people. we could consult them what to buy, where to eat and it always meet our expectations. it is a privelage to travel with someone who loves the country and the places so much.
Our private tour was quite comprehensive, and we covered a lot of ground. Louis brought us to a couple of fun cafes where we tasted local specialties, a beautiful waterfall and of course the Otavalo Market. Timing at each location was perfect. The only thing I would say was that we did miss a bit with info on the area and communicating as his English was good, but I think he had a hard time with a lot of our questions.
We had a wonderful time with Freddy, our guide and driver. He is excellent in both counts and we learned a lot from him. We love the stop at the equator mainly for the delicious snack shop with great demo on making of the brococho. The market was fun with beautiful wares and we also like the stop at the community center for weaving demo.. again we learn more. The lunch place recommended was also great. Freddy communicates very well. The van for 4 of us was very clean, and roomy.
After searching through similar companies to provide a tour for 1-2 ays in Quito, I settled with Let's Go Ecuador based on their pricing, friendliness, and quick response. Angela was easy to work and we exchanged multiple emails prior to the trip to help decide a tour and later to customize the tour to our liking. It put my mind at ease in anticipation of going to a foreign country to have the airport transfer already pre-arranged. The company uses Whatapp and email and it was helpful to communicate with them when I wanted to add a third person to our tour. I did the Otavalo tour and Mindo tour and enjoyed both days. I recommend reviewing the itinerary and discussing how many hours you have for each stop and deciding if you just want to see everything, focus on one thing, or have a more relaxing pace. All in all, RECOMMEND!
We explored beautiful Ecuador with Angela and Jammie. They provided us with unforgetabler sightsings and expirences - they turned our visit to once in a lifetime trip.
Visiting local businesses and hearing their stories especially the traditional ways. Weaving, musical instruments and bischochas.
I took private tours to Cotopaxi and Otavalo with guide Luis Hounday. Luis was s very accommodating and knowledgeable guide, who speaks pretty good English. Luis has close relationships with the indigenous people and served as a great ambassador. I would highly recommend him, especially to travelers without a strong command of Spanish.
We did three day tours with Angela and Jamie, they were very knowledgeable and helpful tailoring the tours to our wants and needs. They have a great selection of activities and we definitely would recommend them for all your tours. They will pick you up at any time or place making the tour’s easily accessible and enjoyable. Angela is from Ecuador and Jamie is her husband from Canada making communication easy and comfortable, their company was great.
