View on Google MapsChris provided us with a great tour of Dunedin. His personal knowledge and insight being raised in the city were very valuable. We throughly enjoyed our tour with Chris and highly recommend him to anyone considering this tour. The small group made the excursion even more memorable.
We had a great tour guide that drove us safety to the castle and explained the history of the site. He was very knowledgeable and pleasant to listen to
Pick up was easy at the port without issue. Great and informative tour with Chris. Lots of info was provided. Locations were wonderful and never felt rushed. Had time for quick lunch at castle. Nice enough to drop us off a brewery to finish our tour. Highly recommend this tour for cruise passengers

Chris, our driver, was the highlight of our tour and was such a nice person. Very helpful and informative. Larnarch Castle was a beautiful place to visit; very interesting and enjoyable. However the other sights were pleasant but not outstanding. And the tour was essentially from 10am to 2.30pm, so quite short. Overall a nice tour but not, in my opinion, worth the over AUD$433.90 for the 2 of us. Somewhere around the $120 - $160 pp would have be more realistic.
We really enjoyed this excursion. The guide is very kind and knows his subject well. The visit to the castle is definitely worth the trip.
Top notch small group experience... covered lots of highlights at a reasonable pace. Would absolutely recommend Chris to others that are visiting the area and would like to cover a lot in a short time, especially if you're in port from a cruise ship!
We had an exceptional experience on our tour with Chris. He was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so many fascinating insights about the region, all while keeping the pace relaxed, so we never felt rushed. Baldwin Street was a real highlight — the steepest street in the world and absolutely worth the walk to the top for the sense of achievement alone. Another standout was the Dunedin Railway Station, with its stunning Flemish Renaissance architecture and beautiful mosaic tile floor. On the way to Larnach Castle, we stopped to admire the view over Smails Beach and were lucky enough to spot New Zealand sea lions basking in the sun and swimming near Bird Island — such a memorable moment. Larnach Castle itself was lovely, and Chris once again delivered a fascinating and engaging tour. We also really enjoyed the onsite café; the food and coffee were delicious and great value. Before leaving, make sure to visit the gift shop — there are plenty of lovely items to take home as souvenirs or gifts. Overall, this tour was a fantastic experience from beginning to end. Highly recommended.
Chris was a fantastic guide! Very knowledgeable and the itinerary really gave you a great overview. Small group (6) made the tour great.
What a great tour!! Chris was right on time, and picked us up from the cruise port in a vey comfortable minivan (no smells, very clean), which was a real bonus for us. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about showing us his hometown, and there were plenty of stops for photos. We had a relaxed stop at Baldwin Street, the steepest street in the world, the Railway Station (a real gem) and the Larnach Castle. The castle tour was great, and again, he was so knowledgeable with stories and details. He took two different routes to get to and from the castle, so we enjoyed some stunningly beautiful scenery there and back, and like I said before, there were plenty of photo stops with enough time to take and photos and just enjoy the countryside. Well worth the money and time. Well done, Chris!!
