Private Surfing Lesson in Playa Grande for beginners and intermediates

Our family received private surfing instruction. Brian made sure each family member understood all the safety rules and how to get up the board. Within 2 tries, we were all surfing. It was so much fun!

My husband and I were pointed to Marcos by our Airbnb host, and we had an amazing time! Marcos taught us the basics and safety and quickly got us out in the water. We successfully road a few waves to the shore and just had a blast. Highly recommend!

My family had surf lessons from Marco and Brian. They had an amazing time. They helped everyone “get up” on their boards multiple times and were fun and patient. I would highly recommend them!

They views and the beach are unbelievable. My 13 year old son and I took surf lessons with Marcos who was absolutely fantastic. My son picked it up right away. Planning to come back again.

We had a great experience! There seemed to be a disconnect between the tour company and TripAdvisor when we first arrived they did not know we were going to be there. Kyressa (hopefully the spelling is close) was wonderful though. She apologized and went right to work getting a tour guide scheduled and offered us several different options to make up for the confusion. We chose to spend the morning on the beach and do the surf lessons in the afternoon instead. Kyreesa provided us with free chairs, umbrella, and wake boards to make sure we enjoyed our morning. The lesson itself was awesome! Erickson was great with the kids and had us all up on boards including me in the first 15 minutes and I am old and overweight. He was also very safety conscious and even shared some of his own personal zinc barrier sunscreen when he saw ours wasn’t cutting it. The kids loved the lesson and I would highly recommend it.

We took a private surfing lesson in August 2024, and our very patient instructor helped 2 clumsy people actually stand up on surfboards. We felt like superheroes. Looking forward to taking another lesson when we go back to Cost Rica.

Holy Moly, the crew at “YOUARECOSTARICA” was the most helpful, resourceful, and engaging company that I have ever had the pleasure doing a family trip. Our flight was cancelled, we were beat when we finally arrived and they somehow were totally able to “fix” everything! They arranged childcare for two littles and the Nannie’s were delightful - we were all blown away with services and hope one day we can come again to to just enjoy their hospitality!

The kids had a great time and all got to stand up quite a bit. The only feedback was make sure you ask for the full two hours if you pay for that. It a was great and they loved it. They were just disappointed it was a little shorter than we expected. Good time.

A lovely family business who are incredibly accommodating and so so kind. Genuinely seemed stoked for you when you made improvements and caught waves. Super good vibes all round and booking a surf lesson here is a must to make you playa grande visit complete. Can’t wait to go back and take some more. Can’t express just how lovely everyone was and so welcoming and supportive. Super informative and will go above and beyond to answer any questions and queries you have.
