View on Google MapsThelma picked us up on time was friendly and courteous. We stopped at multiple wineries and had a boat tour. During the entire trip Thelma was describing the history of the wineries and the area. It was a fantastic trip
Absolutely fantastic day with Miguel exploring the Duoro Valley. Everything was top class and could not have been better. Miguel was incredibly friendly and full of interesting info and fun facts. The boat tour, wineries and lunch were all simply amazing and we had such a wonderful day. Obrigada Miguel- we cannot recommend this highly enough.
My friend and I booked this tour after doing some online research and reading reviews. The entire experience was phenomenal! Communication was clear and direct starting from booking to the end of the tour. Transportation was clean, comfortable and efficient. Our guide Tiago was an exemplary host. His passion and knowledge for the culture, history and Duoro way of life was contagious. Experiencing Duoro through the eyes of the locals was an unforgettable experience!!
This tour was one of the best we've ever had! It was just my husband and I along with our incredible guide, Tiago. He grew up in the Douro Valley, his father is a vintner and he KNOWS WINE! We were picked up at our hotel exactly on time and Tiago drove expertly through the gorgeous Douro Valley making relevant and interesting observations. When we arrived in Pinhao, we relaxed in a coffee shop and had a wonderful pastry. Then off to the boat to tour the valley. Of course, Tiago brought us some "breakfast wine" to start off. The two wineries chosen to tour were perfect. The first was a Port winery and the tasting room and orchards were stunning! We had delicious olive oil and bread to accompany some incredible port. The second winery was small and magical. We had lunch there and the good fortune to meet and talk with the 84 year-old owner. Needless to say, we shipped some good stuff home. This company knows how to do tours. Don't hesitate. And if you go to the Douro Valley, ask for Tiago!
I took 2 different tours and both of them were excellent Both tour guides were able to provide amazing information and navigate the driving at the same time When we stopped they took pictures of us and found the best viewing points What sets them apart is that when we went on the river boat ride in the wine country and went into the wineries our guide went with us and narrated all the highlights An amazing experience and I highly recommend them.
Contacted in January 2025 in order to plan and facilitate my engagement proposal. Oporto sensations were brilliant, they gave me lots of options and timely responses. The booking was flexible and that gave me a lot of reassurance that I was dealing with a company that really is care. When the day came the tour guide was on time, talkative and well informed on the history of the region. The tour was magnificent and I was delighted when my girlfriend said yes!
We had a wonderful experience touring the Douro Valley. Attention to every detail ensured a perfect day! Highlights included a river boat tour ,delicious lunch at a small local restaurant, amazing views and lots of wine tasting. we highly recommend this tour.
It is hard not to be glowingly positive about any activity in beautiful Portugal, but our day long journey in the Douro Valley was the best. Our guide Pedro was knowledgable, charming and fun. By the time we reached our first vineyard, we were already well-schooled in the art and the challenges of winemaking. After a stop at the best bakery in the valley and walk to an old train station with gorgeous tiled murals of the valley, we visited out first vineyard, one of the biggest and most successful in the country. After a tour of the vineyard and the storage facilities, we enjoyed a Port tasting and discovered "Pink," a unique port made only by Croft Vineyards. Then on to a cruise on the Douro River. The advantage of a guide was obvious during the cruise. Pedro was the best! Born in Porto - he knows everyone and everything about the valley and the river and now so do we! After the cruise, we visited a small family vineyard that was centuries old. Everything was still done by hand except for the stomping of the grapes which is done by foot. Lots of feet. We were surprised to learn that even the most modern and large vineyards, continue this practice. We had an amazing lunch at the winery and then a tasting and a sleepy drive back to Porto. We had a wonderful 10 days in Portugal but this was the best by far. What made the experience really special was our guide, Pedro.
Thank you for a thoroughly enjoyable day. Comfortable transport, Knowledgeable friendly host guide, covered all the spectacular highlights of the area and some hidden gems, lovely boat trip, Super lunch with fabulous views, informative winery tours and a very scenic drive home. Everything was excellent, we have paid a lot more for private driver/guides elsewhere which were not as comprehensive. Would have preferred collection / drop off in Villa de Nova Gaia but web site did forewarn this wasn’t possible, and is understandable but was problematic for the uber driver to find the meeting point. Highly recommend trip Oh….and the plentiful port wasn’t too bad either
Our wine tasting tour with Oporto Sensation Tour was nothing short of spectacular! What made it truly special was the small group setting, which created an intimate, VIP-like experience where we could fully enjoy every moment without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. Our guide, Miguel, was exceptional—extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and respectful. His passion for Porto’s history and wines was evident, and he took care of every detail to ensure a seamless and enjoyable day. He shared fascinating insights about the Douro Valley’s winemaking traditions, making the experience both educational and engaging. The carefully selected wineries were top-notch, offering a mix of traditional and modern winemaking techniques. The tastings were phenomenal, allowing us to savor some of the best wines the region has to offer. Thanks to the personalized attention Miguel provided, we felt like honored guests rather than just tourists. If you’re looking for a high-quality, small-group wine tour in Porto, Oporto Sensation Tour is the way to go. And if you have Miguel as your guide, you’re in for an unforgettable, VIP experience. Highly recommended!
