I highly recommend Maebar Travel if you ever want to go to Bhutan! Everything was planned perfectly from the beginning to the end and things went unbelievably smoothly: you don't have to worry about anything, you can just focus on the sights, relax and enjoy the ride. I had the pleasure of having Nima (driver) and Tenzin (guide) with me on my tour and both of them are truly professionals and also superfriendly. I felt like I was always taken care of and they went above and beyond trying to meet every wish that I had. It is difficult to imagine that someone could be a better choice than them, thank you so much!
Our 5-day tour of Bhutan was perfect. The organization very simple also thanks to WhatsApp communications with Tsenrig, always very kind and helpful. The tour is customizable and the highlight, in my opinion, is that it is an individual tour and not a group tour. Arrived in Bhutan we were awaited by our private guide and driver, Pema and Nima, two very pleasant people with whom to spend whole days, of extreme kindness, very competent and well available to meet our requests. Nima, the driver, is very diligent, drives carefully and never once have we felt in danger traveling by car with him. Pema, the guide, is incredible. He has an immeasurable knowledge of every detail about his country; he has filled us with valuable information and enriched us culturally by making us taste the authenticity of Bhutan. He never rushed us, he always gave us time for visits and purchases. Even during the tiring trek to Tiger's Nest he never rushed us indeed, he told us to take our time, to take breaks, to walk slowly so as not to tire too much given the altitude. Our trip would not have been the same without these two important figures, so thank you very much Pema and Nima for making our stay in Bhutan unforgettable. The 3-star accommodation exceeded expectations: very spacious rooms, warm rooms and relaxing atmosphere. The food, all included in the package, was always great; Bhutanese cuisine was a nice find in terms of quality and flavors. Not to mention the quantities, for us always exaggerated since we usually eat little, but they really care about making you eat well and a lot. We also loved the bathroom with hot stones and the typical dinner at Isha's house, excellent cook. Bhutan is a country to discover, which leaves you breathless with its Himalayan landscapes, its particular architecture and its calm and kind people. Kadrin than Bhutan! You were incredible!

We have just finished a 5 day tour with Maebar Travel, which I booked online from the UK several months ago. We are missing Bhutan already, we had the most wonderful tour/experience! Bhutan really is unlike any other south Asian country we have visited, it's impossible to put into words. We are very happy to recommend the use of Maebar Travel (you are unable to travel independently to Bhutan, a tour /guide is currently required). Tsenrig organised our visas and communicated really well with our itinerary, adjusting as our flight changed. Be mindful that you are unable to book via credit card, Bhutan does not use credit cards but there are ATMs in the main towns and some European cards are accepted. A huge positive review of our fantastic driver Nema and our amazing guide Tenzin, whose knowledge including historical storytelling was outstanding alongside with his passion and love of his country and Royal family. We had many laughs together and will already remember our time in Bhutan with much joy. Thank you. Delighted to highly recommend using Maebar travel.
We had a great experience with Maebar Travel on a 7 day tour. They took care of everything we needed. We highly recommend this company. The owner was very accommodating and made sure everything worked out. Our Guide Tenzin and driver Nima were wonderful and very attentive. They made sure we had a great visit.
Tsenrig organised my brilliant tour through Thimpu, Paro and Punakha. The accommodation options were just terrific and there was a perfect amount of sightseeing and relaxing. The tour took in all the big sights including the fortresses, temples, monestaries, museums and some trekking. The food was great including a lovely farmhouse visit with home cooked Bhutanese food and even a hot stone bath. A special mention of my guide Tenzin and driver/guide Nima who made the whole experience unforgettable. So much knowledge and so polite and helpful, I couldn't have asked for more.
First of all, I cannot say enough good things about Maebar travel. The team were amazing beginning from the level of communication and preparedness before our trip started, through to the moment they dropped us off the airport, wishing us safe travel. Getting into Bhutan requires a Visa, which is significantly easier to let a tour guide/travel agency perform for you. Tsenrig was in regular touch, collecting the right information to ensure the process was smooth and that we had it in plenty of time for our flight - very efficient. We were greeted at the airport by our smiling guide and driver, and over the next 4 (and a tiny bit) days, they couldn't do enough for us. They were very knowledgeable and were constantly sharing cultural and historical information, and anything they couldn't answer was answered within hours after they researched it. The driving was slower in Bhutan than I was used to but our driver was extremely safe and made every drive as comfortable as possible. This included those nice little touches you appreciate such as making sure we had fresh water in the door pockets each day. As to the tour itself, it was an amazing experience. It was a close to a 180 shift from the hustle and bustle of Nepal as we could get, and you can't help but 'get' the cultural vibe from the moment you arrive at the airport. I'd read (and watched) about the landing in Paro, with the fact that there are only 50 pilots in the world approved to do it, but as an avid aviation enthusiast can confidently say there was nothing about the descent in Paro that worried me. It was comfortable and safe, and a wonderful experience in its own right. Each day was a combination of travel, fortress, and temple with very comfortable accommodation each night. All but the last night had A/C and we didn't really need it in Paro anyway because it was a little cooler. Food was enjoyable and our guide regularly gave us the option between some Bhutanese local food or something else of our choosing, and we mostly stuck with the Bhutanese food because, well, we're on a tour, and frankly much of it was delicious. On our last full day we did the hike to the famous Tiger's Nest. In my view the effort of the hike makes the reward all the sweeter but be clear, this is a day of some effort. We ascended something around 2,000ft (>600m), taking around 90 minutes to do it. There is a mix of trail and stairs and there is no reason to go as fast as we did if you'd rather take your time. There's a nice rest stop half way too. I have already shown a bunch of pic's to friends and am offering to connect them to Maebar travel if they are interested - and leave my review with the same recommendation to you. I'm very happy with my choice of this team - they made the trip itself all the more special. Well done guys!
Maebar did a fantastic job arranging our 15-day adventure in Bhutan. We were looking for a cultural-focused tour that really gave us insight into both historical and modern Bhutanese life and gave us an appreciation of and understanding for this amazing kingdom. Our guide Tenzin and our driver Pema delivered just that. We visited Thimphu, Paro, Ura, Bumthang, Punakha and Phobjikha Valley, with a mix of both hotels and homestays across both. They were both fun, insightful, knowledgable and great partners to have in this two week journey. Lodging and pace of trip was well thought out and comfortable. Highlights were certainly the annual festival at Ura and learning famous Bhutanese pop songs on the road. I'd highly recommend Maebar to anyone considering a trip to Bhutan!
Tsenrig from Maebar Travel was fantastic to work with. He answered all my questions with detail and patience. Bhutan truly is a magnificent hidden gem!
We had a wonderful overall experience with Maebar travel. Before the tour started, Palden Tsenrig patiently explained everything and helped with securing the flight tickets. When we arrived in the country, our guide, Kezang Nima, and driver, Sonam Letho, were very friendly and accommodating and took great care of us. We really enjoyed the beautiful country of Bhutan, its mountains, monasteries, fortresses and food and would definitely recommend this agency.
