View on Google MapsHad a wonderful tour and even saw dolphins and a seal! <3 Crew (Bluebell, Blair and another young woman whose name I forgot) was very friendly and shared much information on the bay, the animals we saw, Māori history, etc. Would recommend! :)
We were reallocated to their bigger boat, which included the trip up to the Hole in the Rock. This is the only cruise company in the Bay of Islands that is approved by the ancestral owners of Motukokako/Piercy Island, also known as "The Hole In The Rock", to share the Māori history of “The Hole in the Rock”. It was fantastic. We visited a predator free island Motuarohia/Roberton (meaning “reconnoitered island”). We saw the Cape Brett Lighthouse, went through the Hole in the Rock, saw a huge Bull Fur Seal sunning on a bird sanctuary rock and Dolphins. During our stop at Urupukapuka Island we saw Stingrays and our granddaughter did some snorkeling and fish feeding. We had a fantastic time. The captain did a great commentary and the crew were delightful. We went through the Hole in the Rock and were lucky to see the Dolphins as that is going through the Rock is weather dependent and it's up to the Dolphins if they want to put in an appearance. You can order a picnic to take from the company, which I am sure would have be good. If you don't want to do that there is a cafe on Urupukapuka. We were gifted a picnic box from Picnic Box (based in Paihia - they have a website or, hello@thepicnicboxboi.co.nz 027 248 6556). It was fantastic and would recommend. One tip - take a warm jumper it can be cold when the boat hits speed. They do provide warm blankets if needed.

A fantastic day trip. We ventured out and got treated to viewing some dolphins. Headed to hole in the rock and did 2 trips through. Captain and crew were friendly and funny and thankfully came back to get us when we were a few minutes late getting back to the boat. Urupukapuka Island was gorgeous and we really enjoyed exploring the rock pool at Roberton Island. Would highly recommend this day tour.
Despite the weather conditions, Zac was an experienced skipper with lots of local knowledge. We enjoyed the hike with amazing views, snorkelling and stand-up paddling. Cass was super friendly & helpful too.
Roberton island was the most beautiful beach view I have ever seen. Zac was a great tour guide, friendly and gave a good history of the area while doing all the jobs on the boat as well. Was nice to have a secluded beach and paddleboard on the second stop and Water was quite cold so didnt snorkel, but ny husband found us aome kina to try.
Very good experience.. good knowledge of local area, very friendly staff, lovely swim stop off with chance of snorkelling Comfortable boat, even provided warm blankets when the wind picked up..lovely staff , very friendly
Very good tour with moderate information between stops. Well planned with with bite-long stops. Nice staff especially the new American girl who seems cut and dry for the job!
Amazing tour, skilled and knowledgable boat driver. The islands were beautiful and we had a good amount of time on two of the islands
What a fantastic trip! We were lucky enough to see a pod of dolphins who swam right under our boat, as well as seals and many fish and birds. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the day was paced beautifully to give us time to explore places. The skipper, Hamish, gave us some great information about the wildlife and the history in each place without overloading us with facts. We came away feeling relaxed and fulfilled. Also, it's great to know it's locally owned business and that some of the price of the ticket goes back into conservation.
Amazing 1/2 day tour with Nic and Bluebell. Nic’s driving into the cave and through the rock was awesome and the smaller boat enabled us to see this up close. We were lucky enough to have the most wonderful dolphin pod who hung out around the boat for such a long time, walked to the top of the island for outstanding views and then off to see fur seals, local birds and a bit of snorkelling. Nic and Bluebell made the trip excellent with their friendly smiles and they made sure everyone had a great time.
