2 Days Private Tour to See Bull Race and Raflesia Arnoldi Flower

As the bull races did not take place on Saturday I could not attend. On the other hand, the guide, kind and competent, offered me a visit to the Harau Valley. Beautiful area. Green rice fields surrounded by high granite cliffs. Everything has been organized perfectly. Highlights of the tour were the discovery of traditional houses and hiking through the rice fields with a competent, friendly and always smiling local guide. Up close we see the various aspects of rice cultivation. Peasants welcome visitors with a smile on their faces despite a strenuous and poorly paid job. A very beautiful and touching experience.

Nice and good trip, I really enjoyed and had fun. The driver is a kind person and helpfull. I advice others to participate.

This was a weekend trip from Singapore for me and I really enjoyed the tour which shows a different side of West Sumatra versus the islands. The bull races were great fun to watch and we were lucky enough to see blooming raffleesia. The hike up was a bit of an adventure to a secluded spot surrounded by the sounds of the jungle. A particular shout out to Doni who was very helpful and responsive in solving a booking issue and to my driver Tony who is very knowledgeable of the region and provided excellent service and conversation. Would love to come back and try another one of the tour offerings.
