We had originally booked the Taste of Canada food tour for Columbus Day weekend but were contacted prior to our visit that there were not enough tour guides that day to accommodate us. Instead, we switched to the 2.5 hour Taste of the ByWard Market tour. Our guide Stephanie was excellent, providing information about Ottawa as we made our way around the market and its surroundings. The savory and sweet foods were enjoyed were delicious. However, for the amount of money charged for the tour, we did not feel the amount of food we received was worth the cost.
The host was nice. But I found the portions a bit small. The walk was pleasant and it was a beautiful evening. But I would not do it again.

This is amongst the best food tours I’ve ever taken. Bridget, our guide, knows the history well and introduced us to some really excellent food venues! Highly recommended!
We had a great time with our guide Skye, she was so friendly, super informative and took us to some really great spots to eat and drink. Ringing the bell at the Byward Market was an unexpected delight. It was our first visit to Ottawa and we can’t wait to go back!!
Skye was a wonderful guide! The food choices were so good and flavorful. I love how she didn’t stick to Canadian “staples” but more of what the locals enjoy most.
The food was outstanding. Everything was of high quality and you didn’t leave feeling hungry. The tour guide Yasmine was lovely and very personable. Lots about the history of the area too.
We did the Byward Market Evening Tour and it was amazing! Richard was the best guide, every stop we thought was the best until we reached the next one. The food, the drinks, the history, everything you could ask for. We were so full though, when they say bring your appetite, they mean it! Also, my first croffle was incredible, First Bite was a nice surprise at the end. We still managed to get the light treat in amongst all the other goodness stuffed in our bellies. If you’re thinking about doing a food tour, this is the one to do!
