View on Google MapsMartin Strait was an excellent guide. Clear, thorough, very professional. We enjoyed the tour and convenient itinerary very much. My only complaint was we had to wait 20 minutes outdoors in very cold weather for 2 other participants to meet up: they were native speakers even staying in nearby lodging, oddly incapable of using a map to find the meeting point which was announced to all days in advance. Preparedness beats apologies. Our guide contacted them by mobile a few times to assist. İ think instead our guide should have just phoned them once then moved on while they learned to use an interactive map and catch up with us. Perhaps also a note upon booking that the tour departs with no more than 5 minutes' grace period would help avoid this situation.
There are so many interesting things to see in Newcastle. That’s why we had booked a guided tour and it was all worth the money.
Just my wife and myself for the tour. Martin was very informative and covered a lot of information at a relaxed pace for the three hours. Highly recommend.

Martin guided myself and another lady round Newcastle this afternoon. He’s got a lovely manner, well paced, answered questions and overall very informative. Thanks for sharing Newcastle’s history with us.
It was a wonderful walking tour around Newcastle—exciting, well-paced, and Martin made it even better with his great guiding.
sorry for the delay in coming to the appointment my watch was 15 mn late. Thanks the guide who was waiting for me 10 mn but no problem the explanation on the spot was concluded.
3 hours of Newcastle history spanning 2000+ years! We learned about castles, walls, towers, architecture, churches, the cathedral, marketplaces, squares, statues, the River Tyne, 7 bridges, theaters, concert halls, city government, the Romans, the library, all while looping around the city on a sunny afternoon. We parted ways at the Millennium Bridge learning sooo much! Thank you Martin, well done!
Great intro to the city of Newcastle! Martin shares his wealth of knowledge about history, local culture, good pubs (!) and all manner of other things. It really was a fantastic three hours - the only problem being I didn't want it to end!
I learnt a full history about the formation of Newcastle city and it's culture. Visiting in door locations gave it a unique experience
Martin was fantastic. Only my wife and I on the tour which made it really good, Martin knowledgeable throughout and we learned so much about the place we live and love. Thanks again.
