View on Google MapsThe organizers were in contact with us almost immediately after booking, and they stayed in contact while the details were finalized. General surveys of our expectations were followed by direct interaction with Kate, who finalized the itinerary. We met the tour guide, Kat, exactly as planned; and Kat was very knowledgeable, accommodating and thoughtful. Kat guided us to the less crowded parts of the areas we wanted to see, and he was always willing to cheerfully answer questions no matter how intrusive—and probably culturally insensitive. Lastly, though we know tipping is not customary in Japan, we prepared an envelope with a small gratuity (10%) in case our guide was exceptional. We were happy to present that to Kat at the end of our four hours together.
