View on Google MapsJenny was a very good guide. She had narrated very comprehensive stories to us. She helped a lot with handling, i.e. going up-&-down of the wheelchair. We were glad to have her as our guide. 2 thumb-up for our young, energetic, helpful guide today: Ms. Jenny. Recommended.
I enjoyed my day with Francis. He made everything easy and comfortable for me. He was open to my request to modify the schedule which I very much appreciate! Francis is very knowledgeable about the sites we saw, and also about the world in general so we had good discussions during the day. He has a very good command of English I would recommend Francis to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and interesting local guide.
Our tour guide Fred was great, very knowledgeable and professional, very detailed oriented, he focused on our specific interests and answered all our questions.

The Niushoushan Cultural Park is a must see if you visit Nanjing. This tour is a great way to visit the park. Our guide, Emily, was extremely good. She is knowledgeable about the area, history of the park and the important things to see. The park and buildings are breathtaking. I am not sure you can find anything similar in the world. This tour also includes lunch, which was great. We are not vegetarians, but the vegetarian restaurant we went to was delicious. Alana, who assisted with the tour logistics and Emily, our guide went above and beyond.
Such a beautiful and interesting ste. We learned so much from our guide John, and really enjoyed our day. It was an excellent way to get out of the city and immersed in a cultural experience so different than anything you would ever find outside of Asia. Lots of visitors here though... I would recommend going on a weekday, not a weekend or holiday if you can avoid it.
Niushoushan Cultural Park is breathtaking & must visit while in Nanjing. While inside, it gave you a sense of serenity & calming despite of having a crowd there. We had a nice day tour with Francis, our guide. He spoke english very well, is friendly and patient with the group (restroom breaks & picture time). He took us to lunch & ordered local cuisine. It was plenty of food and good.
I had been looking forward to this visit for a long while: finally, with the help of the capable Alana of Amazing Jiangnan Trip, it became reality! The place enshrines a very important Buddhist relic, representing the continuity from the past into the future of Zen Buddhism through one of the most outstanding and mesmerising architectural masterpieces constructed in recent years. Indeed, the temple, consisting of six floors, most of which are underground, has been built recently (2013-2015), but in a few centuries it will fully represent the newly-found wealth and power of XXI century modern China. The government invested a huge amount of money to preserve the important relic, in accordance to the law, where each of the official religions freely practiced in the vast nation is protected. It was a wise decision, as the Niushou site is now visited especially by youngsters showing a new interest in Buddhism and ancient traditions. Visually, the temple is simply stunning. Each decorative element, put together in an effort to evoke the divine, has a deep meaning for the devotee: here comes my gratitude towards my guide for the day, the kind and knowledgeable John. He patiently explained all symbolism, the fascinating religious traditions and Buddhist legends during the extensive visit. We had a wonderful, rich vegetarian lunch at the beautiful temple canteen, then proceeded to climb up one of the tall pagodas in proximity, enjoying the entire panorama of Nanjing. During my week-long visit to Nanjing I used the services of three different excellent guides from the very same agency, and it was the best choice ever! I fully recommend this private tour in particular, it's different from anything you will ever see...
Everything about the trip was wonderful. The driver and car were great and Lia was so knowledgeable about the history of Nanjing and about Buddhism and she was also so warm and friendly. The palace was just incredible, on a scale and with an opulence that’s pretty astounding, but I almost preferred the Ch’an garden and quiet temple that Lia took me to afterwards. Definitely recommend.
I just had a great day with Fred. He was very good on explaining the history of the places we visited. Also, he knew the right time to avoid the crowd which was very convenient.
