View on Google MapsA wonderful afternoon spent with our guide, José. We learned so much. You have no idea how complicated, and fascinating, the processing of the coffee harvest is! Incidentally, the views from this mountainside in Monteverde where the coffee plantation is are fantastic. ~mp
We thoroughly enjoyed our today of El Pueblo coffee and sugar cane plantation! Our guide Daniel and the owner were very informative!
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the El Pueblo coffee plantation. We tasted coffee beans from the plant, saw the whole process from growing to picking to roasting to brewing. Who knew? We also met Freddy the 3rd generation property owner who made us some fresh sugar cane juice with lime. We had some delicious snacks at the end of the tour along with different types of coffee brewed several ways. The views, the people, the process-great experience!

We thoroughly enjoyed our morning tour with Danny, our guide. We learned so much about growing, harvesting, and processing coffee, and about brewing a great cup. Our coffee tasting was fun and the accompanying snack was delicious. Highly recommend the El Pueblo coffee tour.
An unforgettable coffee tour - one of the highlights of our whole trip! Our guide Alex was knowledgeable, passionate and engaging. He explained the coffee making process from plant to cup and both himself and the owner Freddie were very passionate about their plantation. Walking through the coffee garden was beautiful with a great vista point. Seeing the plants up close and even being able to pick the “cherries” that become the beans! The views alone are worth the visit - the whole tour was very immersive and the perfect setting to unwind and learn something new. The coffee tasting and tasting plate at the end is the perfect end to the trip. The coffee was full of flavour and easily some of the best we have tasted. The tour gave use a deep appreciation for the coffee making process and the importance of this product for the countries traditions and economy.
This was a fantastic tour in a beautiful setting. The coffee plantation is a family business and will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about coffee. English speaking guide and small group. Authentic, non commercial tour. The owner Freddy is very friendly and went out of his way to take us back to our hotel via a stunning view point. Highly recommended, this was a real highlight of my trip to Costa Rica.
Very nice experience, we learned a lot about coffee (visit in Spanish or English) Very welcome, we answered all our questions and the tasting at the end was amazing with typical bocadillas.
This was a terrific tour of a 5 acre family run coffee plantation. From the plants and fruit through harvesting, processing, roasting and a tasting, the tour covers it all. Learned a ton and enjoyed our guide who had a deep knowledge of the enterprise and communicated very well. You will enjoy your time at E Pueblo.
Lovely morning activity - with really lovely informative host. Run by a family and spent time & attention showing us round and answering questions. Excellent
Our El Pueblo Coffee Tour with Alan was a highlight of our time in Monteverde. The experience was informative, engaging, and filled with the kind of local authenticity that makes you truly appreciate Costa Rica’s coffee culture. Alan was an excellent guide—knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about every step of the process. He walked us through the history of coffee in Costa Rica, from cultivation and harvest to roasting and production, weaving in stories and local insights that brought the experience to life. We even learned about sugar cane and its connection to the coffee-making tradition, which added a fun and flavorful touch. The tour ended with a coffee tasting that was both educational and delicious. We sampled a variety of roasts, each with its own character and aroma, paired with small bites—including some of the freshest fruit we’ve ever tasted. It was the perfect way to round out the experience. If you’re in Monteverde, don’t miss this tour. It’s an authentic, hands-on glimpse into one of Costa Rica’s most cherished traditions, guided by someone who clearly loves what he does.
