I had a wonderful time with my fantastic guide Sabrina, who made this tour a lot of fun, informative and (almost) most important for a food tour full of very delicious food! The tour is very well structured and you learn a lot about the city and it's culinary culture. You won't regret going, promised!
We had a great street food tour with Hindu as a guide 🇰🇪! She led us with a lot of heart, knowledge and enthusiasm to the best places in Mombasa – from typical lunch dishes 🍛 to spicy snacks 🌶️ to sweet treats 🍰 everything was there. Thanks to their sympathetic nature and exciting explanations, we were able to experience not only the food, but also the culture and everyday life up close. All in all a great tour that we can recommend without restriction! 🙌✨

We had a wonderful day with lots of delicious food and background info on Mombasa us his story. We were traveling with Aysha (hopefully spelled correctly). She showed us great food and drinks in typical local and great spots. We also visited the market. In the end we even got a few delicacies as a surprise as a gift. We loved it! Highly recommended.
Our tour included a very enlightening walk around the old town part of Mobasa with our informative and cheerful guide, Kahrim, providing details of the history and culture of the town in excellent English, including the details of the architecture of the town, both new and old. We enjoyed the varied foods provided to us from authentic local restaurants and cafes - the same as the locals were eating, and then visited the main fresh food market in central Mombasa. Here we sampled excellent local fruits and a sweet. The trip ended in a tuktuk ride to a coastal viewpoint where we enjoyed a fresh coconut water drink overlooking the sea. What made this trip even more memorable for us occurred when Kahrim shared his contact details with our tuktuk driver who was to take us back to the cruise ship, just in case any issues arose. This level of care even after the tour had ended showed us how compassionate and thoughful our guide was. We have not experienced this before and really appreciate this extra effort to ensure our tour of Mobasa would be a memorable and enjoyable one. Kahrim also told us that 30% of the profits from these tours was given back to struggling small businesses around the town, also something seldom seen with other tours.
I chose the breakfast tour to avoid the mid-day heat, and it was an excellent choice. My guide, Hindu, is clearly a food lover, and could describe the key ingredients as well as the cooking methods. The portions were generous, and the locations seemed authentic. We visited a café, a sweet shop, the market, a personal storefront, a gift shop, a cold house and ended with a relaxing view of the Indian Ocean. Mixed in was a bit of city history which helped to explain the culinary history and TukTuk rides to feel a bit like a local!
A solid, laid-back tour around Mombasa island. Karim was my guide and he took me around to all the major sights, pointing out interesting bits of architecture, dropping knowledge about the history of Mombasa and Swahili culture, and answering any/all of my questions. We stopped at five places for food/drinks that I *never* would have had the courage to go to on my own, and I got a wide sample of foods and flavors that I think I otherwise would have missed out on. Great overall experience!
Amazing experience of street food tasting in Old Town Mombasa! Hawa was fantastic and so knowledgeable about the history of Mombasa and the culture of the area, the architecture and the foods. Very worth it!!
We have experienced many food tours around the world, but this one is definitely one of the best! The booking went straight through the website, and shortly afterwards we were contacted via SMS/WhatsApp to find a meeting point that was best for us. The next day we met with our guide Hawa at 12:30 pm, and already in the first meters with the TukTuk to the first stop we felt we were in good hands. Hawa immediately inspired us with her open, friendly and eloquent manner and guided us through the culinary and cultural diversity of the city full of passion and knowledge. At the first stop she asked us if it was okay for us if a young colleague who is still in training accompanied us. This additional accompaniment has enriched the experience in a pleasant way. In addition to fantastic insights into the cuisine of the region, there were many stories and details about the city and its culture. Eventually it felt less like a tour and more like a relaxing day with friends. We deliberately keep the individual stops and the delicious food to ourselves to keep the surprise for the next visitors. We were particularly pleased that we were able to try something new at some street stalls flexibly, which probably wasn’t originally planned on the tour. My wife and I can recommend this tour to anyone who is open to new things and wants to get to know the city in an authentic way. Overall, 4.5-5h were on the way.
This half-day food tour was an absolute culinary adventure! Our guide, Havah was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the local cuisine. From the aromatic spices in the bustling markets to the mouthwatering street food, we experienced the best of Mombasa's flavors. The highlight was definitely the seafood feast at the local restaurant. Highly recommended for anyone looking to delve deeper into the heart of Mombasa's culture and cuisine.
