View on Google MapsGuide was great . She was a lot of fun but very informative. Bus drivers were excellent. They must have the courage of a lion and the reflexes of a fox to drive those roads. Would highly recommend!!
Great tour, but our guide was really confused. She was searching her words, didn't tell us how long we had when we stopped, and never explained why we had to take another bus to go for lunch. The places we visited were great, but the guide was disapppointing. Oh, and bring food! We had lunch at 2 pm... we were starving!
S.o. to Phillipe Vancell. Very knowledgeable and engaging tour guide. A must do! The history and the blue Grotto and caves and fishing village. Amazing day tour.
The company is poor at communicating. We never received a pick up time hence we missed the tour. When contacted to ask if we could catch up. We were told it was too hard. They claim they rang us 4 times there were no calls on our phone. The email in April gave us a location for pick up but no specific time. And of course no refund. Not impressed. We hired a taxi van to do the trip for quarter of the price.
Interesting tour very good guide gave a lot of information and was very helpful obviously can become quite busy being a major tourist attraction
An excellent, well organised tour with our guide, Marysol, looking after us very well and providing us with much information at each site. Particularly enjoyed the Hagar Qim Temples and the Ghar Dalam Cave - both their adjoining museums also proved very interesting. The Blue Grotto is not to be missed. Lunch was delicious but service was slow. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour.
This was a good tour if you want to see several sites in one day without having to organise transport yourself. However too many people on the tour and several tour groups in the same places at the same time. A lot of time spent organising groups and various coaches which was rather tedious. Although good to see several places of interest there wasn't really time to appreciate them fully due to limited time at each stop. Guide was knowledgeable and provided comprehensive and interesting commentary. Included lunch was OK but nothing special
Firstly, Althea was an amazing tour guide. You could really hear and feel her passion when she was relaying the information. The highlight, in my opinion, is the Hagar Qim Temples. It's such a shame that it was raining when I visited (which is the risk I took booking this experience for November), but the landmark is very impressive. Because of the terrible weather, I couldn't visit the caves at the Blue Grotto (again, a risk I took). Ghar Dalam Cave and Museum was also pretty impressive. You don't go too deep into the cave as it is dangerous and for the protection of the animals still living there. The lunch was quite tasty. You have it in Marsaxlokk, which is a fishing village. It was therefore no surprise that the main was fish and chips, but because I don't eat fish, Althea kindly asked that they replace mine with chicken instead. I do have to agree with a previous reviewer regarding the allocation of the bus. There was clearly a lot of confusion and rain did not help the situation. Why not have numbers on the bus or colour code them to make it easier to allocate people? All in all, it was a nice experience. The history of the Hagar Qim Temples was definitely my favourite part.
Overall, this was a bit mixed. On one hand, the operator tried to cram as much into one day as possible. But, that meant feeling frustrated by not having enough time at any of the stops to really get the most our of them - especially Hagar Qim which was a 30 minute stop & we didn’t even have time to see the exhibits in the visitor centre. The Blue Grotto was a 15 minute stop before being told to get back on the bus where we then waited for 20 minutes for the afternoon guide to arrive! The lunch at Marsaxlokk exceeded our expectations, and a welcome part of the day. But … they weren’t ready when we all arrived and the “village” itself was a bit disappointing. The harbour/marina area was nice, but there was heavy industrial buildings at the far side. I’d say, the town was not at all what we expected and was much more built up. We then headed to visit a famous cavern - I confess, we didn’t even bother to go in. By this point we’d had enough (those who did go in were out again in about 20 minutes). There was a lot of time hanging around waiting to be allocated to buses which detracted from the day a bit. This could have been much better with a reduced program and more time at stops.
