View on Google MapsSimon was a great guide and we saw a lot of marine life (turtle, sharks, fish..) on our dive. Would definitely recommend.
My 11 year old Son and I did a one tank shore dive with Banyan Tree Divers. It was great. Our guide was prompt and very thorough with his briefing of the dive. He took the time to answer all of our questions without rushing us. Unfortunately, we were limited to 1 tank vs 2 tanks due to prior commitments. I would definitely recommend this dive operation and hope to dive with them again.
Excellent experience. We went on two dives with Banyan and would highly recommend both. We saw an abundance of turtles, fish, a couple of sharks and several dolphins.

Wonderful family business that survives the Lahaina fire. Very well run with professionals all around. Caitlin worked with me on logistics and was timely in all her responses. Met the dive instructor, Simon, at the dive site aka airport beach. He set us up (all the rental gear is excellent and new) and explained the dive to us. He handled the group (which ranged from newbies to grizzled vets like me) with joy and aplomb. The dive was fun. Lots of fish and coral including a long resident turtle (a hawksbill) that I had seen on a previous dive. Second dive was super- the old Mala pier. Very much like diving a wreck but without the need to dive deep. Highly recommend Banyan Tree Divers. Lots of
We did 2 shore dives with Kevin. We were nervous as this was only our second dive after getting certified in Minnesota. Kevin gave us constructive feedback and encouragement to continue on to the second dive site Mala wharf. It was amazing!!!
My wife and I booked this trip as part of a stop on our Hawaii cruise. We almost canceled a few times because of the uncertainty of traveling near Lahaina and what is the ethical thing to do right now. I am glad we didn’t. Kevin was great as was the whole experience. For those who are apprehensive, don’t be. These guys are local outfitters and appreciate tourism dollars. There are a lot of mixed messages right now so I am glad we were able to support a local business.
This trip was amazing. We were told we might see 1 turtle if lucky. As we got down in the water along the pair, we were pleasantly surprised by no less than 30 turtles eating and chilling on the ocean floor. Our pictures look like something out of National geographic. Just hanging out with these Beautiful creatures was unreal. Then after even our guide said he has never seen it like that.
This is our second time in Maui and our second time diving with Banyan Tree Divers. I cannot say enough about how kind, courteous and safe they are! They know all of the greatest dive spots and they go out of their way to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves!
Went on 2 shore dives off Kahekili beach with Kevin and two other divers. Great experience with a nice small group! Kevin was super personable and went over our dive plan and safety protocols without being over bearing. He gave us clear instructions for our entry in some decent surf and everyone got in and back out without issue. I really appreciated the photos since I never have any pics of myself while diving. Definitely recommend!
Banyan Tree Divers continues to impress me every time. I’ve dove with just about every one of the Instructors and keep coming away impress. My latest have been with Kevin and Caitlin. They have been spot on with communications regarding dates and sites. Prior to each dive, they always take the time to first understand who & what kind of diver you are. They make sure that even when you’re in a mixed group, each person gets the attention that they need when it’s needed. Safety is #1 for them, starting with the briefings and going through the dive. They make sure everyone is safe yet having a good time without feeling like you have mother hen watching over you. They are very observant and are not only pointing out the cool things on the dive but will work with divers to make sure they have no issues during the dive, wether it be ears not equalizing or buoyancy issues after coming shallow from a deeper dive. They know the Kaanapali area incredibly well.
