View on Google MapsExcellent! So fun, we learned a lot and enjoyed chatting with the teachers. Tripadvisor is asking me to use more characters in the review so here is an extra sentence.
This was a spur of the moment activity for us and it ended up being so much fun! We had a whole day of just wandering around and exploring and saw this activity available so we just showed up and they accommodated and got started right away. Great activity as a couple to make something with your hands and get immersed into their tradition. It is also soothing to make- therapeutic. Everyone here is so nice and bubbly and they are very attentive, giving you tea while you weave. This left a lasting impression for us and if you have time to spare, I highly recommend. There was also the shoe making part too, which requires a bit more time.
Brilliant experience! Would be great on a rainy day too. Our family of 5 (kids aged 8, 12, 14) loved weaving our samplers. The myrugy team were so welcoming, kind and attentive throughout even when my 8 year old was upset on arrival from being overwhelmed/tired by Marrakech. We also turned up unannounced and the team were so accommodating. Two of the team spoke perfect English which my kids appreciated. It’s quite difficult to find if you use the road address instead search for MyRugy on Google maps you should find the building and inside someone directed us (near left hand corner) We chose the hour experience and made a small sampler (we got to choose colours and select pattern from about 10 designs). All of us were engaged and focused throughout, my complimentary mint tea (kids given water bottles) went cold as I was so engaged. Thank you to the team for being amazing!
We had an absolutely amazing time! All the instructors were very pleasant and made the process of weaving very enjoyable while giving local perspective! Our girls, 7 and 10 loved the experience! We did the hour long class and walked away with a miniature Moroccan rug!
My younger brother (11) and I (22) each made a small rug. We got a little lost trying to find the centre - it's listed as being on Rue Kbour Chou, which isn't incorrect, but the entrance we found was on an adjacent road to the north of it. We then walked into the centre and turned left and the workshop was a little ways down that way. I'm sorry to say that I forgot to ask our instructor's name, but she patiently showed us the steps (and had a lovely singing voice). We chatted while we weaved and partway through they brought out some mint tea and snacks for us. Overall we had a great time and might have come back for a second pair of rugs if we weren't leaving the next morning! Thank you very much Myrugy :)
Just outside the Medina you will find this charming Carpet workshop, where you can try to manufacture your "mini carpet". Very funny and interesting, you will find very kind and helpful people, who will explain everything about carpet processing. I definitely recommend trying it.
The experience is truly amazing and rewarding. Thank you Hajar for taking the time with me to explain! In addition you have the right to a small photo shoot and they are too beautiful. In addition with this activity you support a cooperative of women who go to wonderful work
It is a very nice experience to learn how rugs are made in Morocco! Hajar was sweet and helpful. We had nice conversations about our cultures and differences and our experience in Morocco. It is very nice to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Very highly recommended!
Such a fun experience! My group had such a great time, and the ladies were so lovely and helpful. It was a wonderful experience getting to practice traditional art and make our own creations.
10/10! Had a wonderful time with the ladies at MyRugy. They were so well-organized and walked us through making our rug each step of the way. They served us water, tea and snacks, but the best part was getting to know them and learn about Morocco from the locals. Thanks ladies! I had a blast :)
