View on Google MapsWe booked by phone the day before at 7 p.m. On the day of the event, all participants sat in the water taxi, which was on the boat trailer and pulled by a tractor. About 300m down the road was the ramp into the sea, where the kayaks needed for our trip were loaded onto the water taxi. It was low tide, the tractor dragged the trailer into the sea until the water depth was reached so that the water taxi could start. The journey to the starting point for the kayak trip took about 20 minutes. There was another briefing, the luggage was stowed away in a waterproof manner, and there was also a waterproof bag for the camera/smartphone. On the kayak route, the guide repeatedly explained history, animals, plants and rocks, so it was never strenuous to paddle. At the end of the kayak trip there were vegetarian sandwiches, cake, fruit, juice and coffee/tea for everyone. The hiking route was easy to do in the time and we made the detour down to Sandfly Beach. The pick-up point for the water taxi was clearly marked and so we were back at the starting point after about 8 hours.
Awesome day of kyaking with small group & our guide Jordan. He had not been guiding at Abel Tasman Kyaks much more than 3mths, but without a doublt he knows his stuff & even ALL the local points if interest. He is professional an seasoned veteran . Very attentive to all needs & abillities. Not had to recomend thus as a must do if you want to how NZ used to be, prime untouched, golden sand water. Perfect weather *29 C made for a perfect day for all, incleding 2 teenage boys. A nice workout with plenty of rewards at many bays from Arwaroa down to Barks bay, with serveral swims & lunch along the way. 10/10 Jordan - keep doing what you do, a real credit to the Team at Abel Tasman kyaks!!!
