View on Google MapsAmazing experience with the help of Fraiser ! We started our tour and stop around Split Apple rock, where we got to learn a bit about the history of the place and the islands. We then had a little coffee break on the beach, a well deserved rest before going back to the starting point ! It was our first time kayaking and Fraiser definitely made it easy for us. We loved this adventure !
Absolutely worth doing. Adults and kids vote as fav thing on our whole trip. Brad was a wonderful guide.
We had a great experience with Kahu kayak. Staff are super friendly. It was our first ever kayak experience with little swimming skill. At first, we were quite anxious but our super helpful guide (Kurt) made us relaxed and made our trip so memorable. He was so patient in guiding us. The kayak ride was around 1 hour each side. When we arrived in the split apple rock beach, he made us a perfect coffee and gave us some time to swim and play. He even arranged a game for us that was so fun. In summary, Kurt did far beyond his job and we are very thankful for that. This is a must do actively in the Northern part of South Island and Kahu kayak is a great and trusted place for that. Highly recommended!

A great morning out, gentle exercise with plenty of time for a swim. Alex or guide was a ball of fun and energy, great with the kids and the adults. Well organised, relaxed and enjoyable
We’ve booked a half-day family package with Brad and what an incredible time we’ve had. Not only Brad was very knowledgable about all wildlife and the best spots to go to, but he was also friendly and professional with both kids and adults. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time and will definitely recommend them to our friends and family.
Steve was an awesome guide and took our family of four including our 9 and 11 year old boys on this tour. Was a stunner day and got to see lots of beautiful beach spots and go through the caves aswell as seeing seals and their pups. Steve was great with the kids and very entertaining. He also makes a good coffee! Thanks heaps team, highly recommend. :-)
From start to finish Brad was the perfect tour guide, unfortunately the rain was pouring when we arrived so Brad gave us a few options to go out, money back or change the date. We decided to carry on and go out as we were only in the area for the day and boy it was worth it! Brad talked us through all the health and safety elements and ensured we had all the right gear on to stay warm and dry. The trip was great we passed lots of interesting shoreline, birds, wildlife and of course the famous slip Apple rock. Brad took the time to tell us stories, legends and myths and took lots of photos for us before heading back for a warm shower and brilliant hot chocolate! Can't wait to go back in the sunshine to see it all again, we'd highly recommend Kahu Kayaks and can't wait to use them again!
We had a great time kayaking with our family of five. Our guide Harvey was very experienced, knowledgeable and fun with our kids. Tour is lovely and goes until the split apple rock beach and back after a nice coffee break. Spotted penguins and eagle rays. Then went on by water taxi to anchorage beach. Super well organised and Danny made it a perfect boat ride for the kids. Thanks for a very enjoyable day.
Myself and my husband had an enjoyable short kayak tour, which was enough for us. From Maranhua to split apple rock, onto the beach where our lovely guide Taylor made coffee, we even saw a stingray in the shallows. Our guide kept us entertained with info and stories and made us feel comfortable as I'm not a great one for the water. Thoroughly recommended Kahu kayaks if you're a first time kayaker or otherwise.
I've kayaked lots of places, but kayaking along the Able Tasman coastline ranks among my best paddles ever. Kahu Kayaks provided us with good gear, gave us the safety talk and sent us on our way to paddle from Mahahau to Observation Beach. We stopped on Adele Island too. Winds were strong, water was choppy but we paddled hard and prevailed. Then hiked the 8km back to Marahau through the beautiful verdant fern forest. If you do choose to hike back, pack real shoes in your dry bag. What a great day!
