Our guide, Ren, was so friendly and knowledgeable. The tour was very interesting and we appreciated his approach. We are so happy we took this tour and learned about Maastricht!
We had a fantastic sunset walking tour with Rene! He showed us all of the interesting historical sites like the city wall, old Roman streets, churchs and the industrial buildings that have been repurposed. He was very friendly and knowledgeable! Highly recommended!

We now live on the Meuse. 12 years old at school at the ursulinen Married someone who went to work at the State Mines. Now DSM We lived in Geleen. So 4 children are real limburgers. Ijmuiden Blast Furnaces Now TATA. We lived for years at Amersfoort .Maastricht kept drawing me. Friendly people and cultural city.
We took the Eurostar from St Pancras to Amsterdam with a connecting train to Maastricht. On arrival in Amsterdam we found our connecting train had been cancelled due to scheduled track maintenance. The info desk in Amsterdam station was unmanned, so with the help of platform staff, we started a long journey to Maastricht, changing trains four times. We finally arrived exhausted into Maastricht. A cab took us to the Novotel, literally five minutes drive from the station. Five stars for the Novotel - it was very clean & comfortable, breakfast was amazing & the staff were super helpful. We’d easily stay there again. The first night we walked to a Greek restaurant nearby, we got lost & should have taken a cab. The food was fab! We attended the fantastic André Rieu concert - how memorable! Highly recommended. Shopping in Maastricht is a must too. And all of the restaurants we ate at were excellent. Maastricht is a beautiful city, lots to see & everyone was helpful & friendly. A staff member at Maastricht station told us the best route/time to return to Amsterdam (train/fast bus & train). It was a simpler journey back & we made the Eurostar home in plenty of time. A great trip!
Rene was a amazing host. Telling us all interesting background on this historical city.Take this trip as a Dutch person for sure. ( Don’t know how his English is, but I would guess that is also excellent).
