Fishing Day with Local Fishermen in Loreto

Wonderful birthday fishing trip on the Sea of Cortez. Pablo was very attentive and helpful with the set up but the best was Captain Tony, who guided our panga, set the books and maneuvered the boat while I caught a monster fish. Baja Mia is a small family outfit and it shows. Highly recommended

Our captain was knowledgeable and spoke enough English to communicate effectively. His wife made burritos for our group to eat lunch on the boat. Our captain helped reel the massive tuna in that we caught. Captain made sure to find hot spots with fish. Would definitely recommend a day of fishing. Side note, the scenery is nothing less than amazing!!!

Fun day on the water for two of us who are both new to fishing. Our guide Gabi was very nice and worked hard to overcome a mechanical challenges that killed all our bait before we got started. Despite the challenges we each landed a nice dorado and enjoyed our day learning a little about fishing in Baja. Thank you!

Baja Mia Tours was exceptional and provided us with a fishing experience we will never forget!! The QUICK and responsive communication made it very EASY to comfortable that you were dealing with a superior company prior to and during the trip. The BONUS was that they picked us at the Villa Del Palmar - on the beach ( low tide - we waded out to the boat). They do tours like snorkeling as well and will pick you up at the hotel - saving $140 van ride to the Marina ( family of 5). We recommended them to several other families during our trip and they were also very pleased with the service, communication and pick up at the resort. Thanks to Gabriel for being a super captain/fisherman and spotting the fish. He was all around amazing and we had the 27’ super panga that had Bluetooth radio. The burritos were delicious and we brought cervezas to enjoy with them ;) The hotel for a fee of about $23USD per person - prepared it 4 different ways - delicious !

If you are in Loreto, I highly recommend doing a fishing charter, and if you’re going to do it, do it with Baja Mia. They are a professional, knowledgeable, and fun crew! Pancho and his team went above and beyond to exceed our expectations. He was informative, personable, knowledgeable and eager to serve us. He literally was willing to take care of our every need whatever it was. A day of fishing starts out early in the morning and on time. They had a cooler packed with beverages and a simple lunch of either sandwiches, burritos or ceviche with chips. We loved the ceviche! We went fishing for several days and our captain, Manuel, made sure we had our hooks baited and advised us on the techniques that would give us the best chance of catching the fish. He was kind, respectful, extremely hard working and helpful in every way. We brought lots of fish home with us and shared some as a token of our gratitude. The dolphins put on a spectacular show and entertained us on our way which was thrilling! We also took the tour in the mountains to San Javier Mission with Javier as well as to a secluded beach and it was more than we could’ve imagined. I took a personal tour to Coronado Island and got to snorkel with the dolphins, visit the sea lions and learn about the history of the beautiful area with a very knowledgeable captain José. They had the boat ready to go shortly after I contacted them and provided a wetsuit, snorkel, mask and fins. We feel like we were treated like family and wouldn’t hesitate to return and send our friends. We had two boats and great Captains in Javi and Manuel I would recommend both of them, fishing was good. I was on the boat with Javi and he made it a great time. Baja Mia is great !
