View on Google MapsAmazing excursion. Jam packed itinerary. Could not have done all we did without our fantastic tour guide Stefano. He was really nice and very helpful. Picked us up from the port and got us back right on time. I highly recommend booking this tour.
Massimo was so wonderful! He communicated where he would be & picked us up on time, then drove us to Pisa-- he knew exactly where the best pictures of our family could be taken (& he offered to take them)! After spending some time there, he was able to drive us right up to the front of the Cathedral/Duomo (Florence) because of his special driver privileges. While in the car, he taught us about Italy & the sights we were visiting, he provided directions to the attractions we'd chosen to see, & he gave us tips/advice for all of our plans. Massimo was flexible, friendly, incredibly helpful, & so kind. He knows the area like the back of his hand & made the entire day enjoyable! (And his English was perfect!)

Massimo was our driver and he was excellent!! He was so knowledgeable and friendly. He made our trip a very pleasant experience!!! We would definitely recommend Massimo and would love to see him again if we return!!! ps. I would advise that this particular trip is really more of a driver than a tour guide. We mistakenly thought that he would be touring us through Florence and that is not how it went. I think you need to book a tour with a driver AND a guide if you want someone to lead you through the city.
This was a great experience. Our guide Luigi was very knowledgeable. I would recommend this excursion.
Picked up as scheduled by our guide, Luigi, at the port. Easy pickup and we were on our way to Pisa in a nice, clean, air-conditioned van as a group of 7 with plenty of room. Luigi gave us some great commentary of the things we were seeing and were going to see along the way to our first stop, Pisa. He drove us a little around town and then dropped us off right at the leaning tower. He gave us a few options for how long to spend there and let us wander by ourselves while he stayed with the vehicle. He gave us some tips on where to get good photos and then where to find a nice bathroom and maybe a coffee, etc. After walking around for a short time we stopped in a few of the shops and then stopped in a cafe for some croissants and cappuccino along with a restroom. We then met back up with Luigi at the designated place just a handful of steps away and were on our way to Florence. The drive to Florence went by quickly as Luigi again gave us information about the area we were driving through along with Florence. While we were in Pisa he took the time to draw out a route he recommended we take in Florence to see some of the sights before we met back up to go to the Accaddemia with our "skip the line" tickets. He dropped us off right at the Duomo and then we were off on our walk that he had mapped out. During this time he took the van and parked it aways away and we stopped and hand some lunch, some chianti, some gelato, bought some stuff at the leather market and overall took in a little bit of the town. We then met back up in front of the Cathedral and he escorted us to the Accaddemia and we went right in without delay. While in the Accaddemia he went and got the van and had us text him when we were done so he could pull up just right near the museum to pick us up. We then had a nice drive back to the port and he provided us some waters for the drive back as well. Overall this was an EXCELLENT tour and I would highly recommend for families or anyone wanting a private tour from a ship that wants to do both Pisa and Florence. Yes, it makes for a bit of a long day trying to do both, but there really is no better way to do it than with Luigi.
We had a great day with our driver Veto. It was me, my sister and two young kids 7 and 8 and husband and my mother. We were picked up from the cruise port. Recommend you get the drivers name and number beforehand and confirm they have the eight number. For some reason the driver had the wrong number and wrong face. Anyway, once we met up it was all amazing. Veto took us to Lisa and academia and then drive us around Florence. He chose a nice restaurant and adjusted for my moms needs and he also was focused on making us happy. We wish we could have spent more time at Pisa because it is part of several buildings. If you want to see the church inside book ahead of time. It’s free but they assign times. You can look inside and take pictures. Academia is where David can be seen and he was worth it. Recommend the tour and driver. Black van was comfortable for all 6 of us. Recommend tour and driver Veto.
This tour and our guide was amazing. Having a private guide made a world of a difference, especially with kids. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Pick up from the cruise terminal went very smoothly.
David of course. View of city. Pizza was beautiful. Driver spoke good english. Told us all the highlights. Was very courtious.
We were met promptly by Antonio at the cruise port. He talked on the way to Florence pointing out areas and local interests. He took us to special spots and made sure we were on time for our tickets at Accademia. He provided a usable map and made sure we were comfortable to walk on our own for a while and pointed out what to look out for. He then took us to Pisa and showed us sites and explained local knowledge of the area he was born in and lived. I would highly recommend Antonio, this tour and Viator. It was marvelous. He gave us great memories. Thank him again for us.
This review is not about the excursion but about how accommodating BellaItaliaTour was when we had to cancel our trip. After many emails back and forth, planning a wonderful day in Florence and a deposit sent, I ended up having to cancel our entire trip for medical reasons. Diana of BellaItalia quickly and efficiently cancelled our tour and refunded our deposit. Sometimes, tour companies are helpful when booking a trip but not willing to accommodate when something goes wrong. BellaItalia was very professional the whole time. I will definitely rebook with them when I am able to travel again.
