View on Google MapsWe’ve been to La Fortuna twice and this was our favorite adventure of all times. I learned so much on this tour, we arrived a few minutes early and enjoyed some snacks and hearing about the history of this park from Alberto, the Biologist who runs the conservation project. He was not only incredibly knowledgeable about everything, he was so passionate about the work he is doing and so enjoyable to learn from. He has been restoring the land the park is on personally with the goal of building balanced ecosystem that the native animals can return to, so he is very familiar with "who" is living in this forest - almost like they are all his friends! The facilities are very clean and well maintained. Long pants and bug spray are important. Flashlights are provided, and walking sticks if you like. Right away on the tour we saw several frogs, and I learned so much about the native flora as well. This was the most diverse wildlife we’ve interacted with in Fortuna, and it was amazing to get an education about how to look for them and the many wonders of the nature. We also saw caimans, iguana, geckos, resting birds, bees, and a huge tarantula. We loved learning about the mission of Anura, and even got some tips on how look for Sloth, as well as some expert advice on our hike we were doing the next day. We are so happy to have met Alberto and experience this tour, and the habitat he’s so dedicated to restoring! This type of work is amazing, and incredibly important for the future of sustainable eco-tourism in Costa Rica. Highly recommend this tour and any experience at this park.

We did the night hike with Alberto and were extremely impressed. He is a biologist with deep knowledge of the jungle’s biodiversity and a real passion for what he does. He guided us through the property and helped us spot and learn about many different species of animals and plants we never would have noticed on our own. We highly recommend this experience for anyone who wants to better understand and appreciate the incredible life within the jungle.
Alberto ( our guide and owner) knows his stuff! He’s a biologist and it shows. So much information and found many amazing things along the trail. You can tell he loves what he’s doing and is a very friendly guy as well.
Very interesting this night tour. Where we could see different frogs and insects Very professional. They are carrying out a spectacular project Fully recommended to do so
Extremely didactic and relaxing experience at night. Magnificent initiative that perfectly combines the recovery of natural areas and their tourist use. Hopefully they'll do well and be able to expand the ground recovered.
We carry out the activity without too many expectations but we get a very positive surprise.I strongly recommend that you carry out this visit. It is led by very enthusiastic professionals who transmit all their knowledge and knowledge, looking for and finding animals, especially different types of frogs and plants.
I visited Anura for a second time (after an amazing first visit) to do the evening insect tour. The guide Dan was very knowledgable and had a keen eye and it was clear he had a passion for spotting the insects! Our tour ran over time due to all of us still enjoying the night time wildlife spotting. We even saw a viper! There were insects, snakes, reptiles and so many iconic Costa Rican frogs! Great tour well worth the time!
We visited Anura Nature Park last year - we had an incredible night walk and learned so much, and saw many tiny frogs! What Alberto is doing here is extraordinary, showing how quickly depleted farm land can be transformed back to rainforest in no time at all! Evolution in action all around you! Alberto is a great biologist so explains it all so clearly and interestingly. He’s a great walking guide too. Cannot recommend this enough.
Awesome hike!!! Alberto is extremely informative showing different animal species almost every 15-20 feet! Beautiful establishment with a well maintained trail. Ask as many questions as possible because they always have an answer! Never thought a night hike would have been as interactive as it was, completely different experience than you would expect hiking during the day!
This is a must visit tour. Fantastic and genuinely an educational experience. Alberto was our tour guide and was such a pleasure to be around. We expected to see a lot of unique insects plants and wildlife, but we did not expect to also be exposed to so much information. This is an absolute must go to! So amazing that I must return and do it again! Very personalized and very exciting!
