The opportunity to ask questions directly to both the maiko and a geiko was delightful! Our guide was helpful in pointing out some things on the street in Gion before we met them that contextualized our conversation. Many thanks to Yuko for her demonstration of sensitivity and respect so that we could get the most out of our experience. A highly memorable experience for all of us!
Amazing authentic experience , great friendly guide , amazing geiko and maiko , served matcha, matcha ice cream, a flour sweet and tea, and great dance
Momo-san was very nice, professional and knowledgeable about the history of the Gion district and maikos/geikos. The tea ceremony was such a unique and special experience that can only be enjoyed through this tour! Meeting the Geiko and Meiko was a pleasure and were open to answering any and all questions we had about their professions and lives. A must do experience!!
We learned so much about the modern geisha. Tomonika (hope I spelled that right) was an excellent tour guide and a good interpreter. The tea ceremony and dances were on my bucket list and never dreamed that I would be able to do it in such a small private party. Thank you for the opportunity!
a truly once in a lifetime, immersive and emotional experience. The tea house makes for a beautiful and intimate setting. Thank you to my hosts and of course, to Maiko-san for welcoming me. Joe
The tour was top notch. We went to a Tea house. We were given all the does and don’ts of proper behavior. We experienced a tea ceremony, enjoyed dancing from a Maiko, and instrument playing by the owner, a former Geiko. Our tour guide was the perfect Japanese local guide. This is the tour to do if you want something that is authentic.
Our guide Tokodo? was very friendly and informative. The Maiko tea ceremony and dancing was fabulous. Fantastic experience!!
