View on Google MapsI am researching for a book and was fortunate to get Dmytro as my guide. His English was excellent but more important, he understood the goals I had and customized my tour to meet my needs. In addition to the places on schedule, he also showed me other places that were relevant to my research. I cannot say enough how much I learned from him. I would suggest that you ask for him if possible.
The Jewish Heritage tour was interesting and my guide and driver did a great job. The synagogues were lovely and I would have loved to be able to attend services in all of them. Babi Yar is breathtakingly beautiful at this point. Particularly with the autumn leaves dressing everything up. I have seen so many documentaries related to this place and felt I knew it well. It was quite different to actually stand on the banks of the ravine, imagine how it was over those three days!!! It is a place one must visit if in Kyiv.
I had come to Kiev for a tour which did not include the Jewish sites, so I contacted Green Tour Ukraine. My guide Ludmilla was exceptional. She knew a lot about the history of Jewish Ukraine and she was able to answer my questions. She also was able to go "off script" and discuss issues of modern Ukraine. The trip to Babi Yar was eye-opening. I would highly recommend this tour. The driver was excellent and in the heat of Kiev in July, the AC was much appreciated!

My guide Taras was extremely knowledgable, he was able to give me an extremely detailed and diverse history of Kyiv and it was lovely to have a guide that was so interested in what he was actually talking about. On the tour there was a huge thunderstorm which made it difficult to carry on the tour and yet he still did a brilliant job, tailoring the tour to my interests. Extremely good tour, I had a brilliant time and would definitely recommend.
Our guide Konstantine was very good. the sculptures in Babi Yardages were very thought provoking. A fascinating day ended with a tour of street art in Kiev. A city of many faces.
