Our 7 year old daughter did a surf lesson with Adam. Adam was great with her, he was patient and taught her basic surfing skills and also taught skills on how to paddle and make her way out through the surf. He allowed her time to rest and warm up when needed and then try again when she was ready. She managed to get up on the board a few times and had a great time and overall experience.
I booked a private surf lesson for my husband and was amazed at how great of an experience it was. Adam was a wonderful instructor who tailored the lesson to my husband's skill level. Would highly recommend Hawaiian Style Surfing!

Instructor was great! Our 15 year old has a great time. Would highly recommend to anyone with teens.
Had a great session with instructor Steve. I’m usually on a 8’6” hardboard, but tried the GL8’. Thanks to Steve’s advice, caught some nice waves at the right spot and had fun. Great location for first-timers and surfers trying to improve their skills. Saw other instructors and they were good. I’d highly recommend going out with Steve or other instructors from this surf school.

Steve Campos was a good instructor. I’m a 20 year surfer but when visiting someplace new it’s good to have a local show you the ropes, the local flavor and improve techniques.
The swell was big on the day we booked so they offered a refund, a rebook, or to go ahead with it but knowing it would be harder. We went ahead with the lesson and she was glad she did! Excellent instructor and good experience!
Honestly, I never write these but felt compelled to this time because it was that awesome. If you're looking to learn to surf, make sure you book with these guys. Most importantly, make sure you request the instructor Kenui. He was my surf instructor and he truly made my trip. He was patient, kind, hilarious, and literally taught me how to surf in an hour and a half. He had a way of explaining things that clicked for me. When I was getting frustrated toward the first half of the lesson, he was able to get me back in the game so to speak. He has one of those personalities where I imagine he can vibe with all kinds of different people. But the best part was he's an excellent teacher and helped me understand the intricacies of surfing. I'm super grateful I randomly got him out of all the instructors. I felt compelled to share this with you all so you can experience it too. Aloha!
First time ever surfing’highlight of my trip!! Nervous ‘ I Immidiatly felt at ease with my surf coach. Billy taught me not only how to surf. But made me feel safe and comfortable the whole time. I stood up on my first wave, because of his amazing surf knowledge and patience. Number 1 surf school on the island !! Can’t wait to come back and visit my now Ohana surf school.
