Actually this is my first review on TripAdvisor, and I’m writing it because I don’t know any other way to say Thankyou to Explore Himalay. My soolo trip to Everest Base Camp turned into something I’ll never forget. I went on this trek alone and was honestly scared at the beginning. They have me a guide which was a great decision. My trek was around that time when snow storm had hit the Khumbu region. …the trails were completely covered in snow. I hadn’t carried crampons, and I didn’t even know how to ask for help. But without me asking, the company arranged to have crampons sent by air, and they arrived just in time. There were other groups of the company and turns out they too received it. We were all so happy. Most importantly as a solo traveler, knowing that someone was looking out for me made all the difference. From transfers and lodges to food and daily care, everything was handled so smoothly. The guide was so cool. He was a sound healer. Imagine getting a session admission the Himalayas. Trekking solo in such a remote place could have been overwhelming, but instead it felt safe, organized, and deeply wholesome. No amount of thank you feels enough, but I hope this helps you trust this team the way I did. I’m trekking with again in March .

Public transportation options are available nearby, Not recommended for pregnant travelers, Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness, Lukla airport or Tenzing–Hillary Airport is a shortest point to start trek to Everest base camp by flight. My third and most beautiful experience in Nepal. A team committed to each of us and highly professional. From arrival to departure the expedition has been led with perfection. The experience of Explore Himalaya is by far ahead from any other offers on the market.
Hello I spent an unforgettable moment with memories full of my head Great team a superb atmosphere I Will Côme back next year
A first class company, they did me VIP from arrival to departure, and they know the shops worth going to, just tell them what you’re looking for, they got you!!
Our trip in April to Island Peak with Explore Himalaya was truly amazing! We had a sped up version of a summit trip, which was gonna be 14 days which to be fair, I do not recommend unless you are in excellent condition. We did it as our friends could not get more time off, and we appreciated it so much that Explore Himalaya tailor made this trip for us. The difficulty for such a trip for a person like me who likes to plan, is to know what the weather will be like, and of course no one will be able to tell you that. Explore Himalaya had a really helpful packing list, and a very detailed itinerary to sort of know what's expected for the various days - which I very much appreciated. The trip itself went super smooth, we had amazing weather each day, stayed at the best lodges throughout - with clear rooms, with comfortable beds and just delicious food (which to me is the most important). I was the slowest in our group, but got to walk my own pace the whole way, and had a sherpa with me the whole time. Because of this, I felt great throughout the whole trip - with no real symptoms of altitude sickness at all. Thank you, Explore Himalaya, for an incredible adventure in the Himalayas! This will be a trip Ill always remember!
Island Peak - amazing experience Apr 2025 • Friends What an amazing experience my husband Dean and I had during our Island Peak expedition organized by Explore Himalaya. Everything was perfectly managed by the staff, starting from the top level accomodation and flexibility provided to my our group during the entire journey. The guides and the porters worked in a very professional way and I was suprised by the facility with which we were able to interact and communicate. Amazing thanks to Anuj and the whole staff for making our dream an unforgettable reality.
Second time trekking in Nepal with Explore Himalaya - and what an adventure! Two years ago we had an unforgettable experience trekking to Everest Base Camp, so we came back to the magical Khumbu region to chase a new goal: Island Peak. This expedition was a dream come true, and it wouldn’t have happened without the amazing team at Explore Himalaya. From the moment we landed in Kathmandu to summit day, everything was super smooth. Our guides were on it - keeping us safe, helping us acclimatize properly, and making sure we soaked in every step through the Himalayas. Island Peak was hands down the hardest thing I’ve ever done. We were short on time and didn’t overnight at base camp, so the summit push was brutal. High altitude is no joke - neither is the cold! We moved painfully slow over crevasses, ice walls, and sketchy ridges, and reached the headwall just before sunrise. Honestly, we wouldn’t have made it without our guides - they literally pushed us to the top of Imja Tse 😅🙏 If you’re dreaming of climbing in Nepal, I can’t recommend Explore Himalaya enough. Already eyeing my next 6000+ meter rock to climb with them. If you’re up for a real challenge, these are your people.
We did the Island Peak trip with Explore Himalaya in May 2025 and it was an amazing experience. We had a short window in which we could do the trip and the guides and porters were great in getting us onto the summit in such a short amount of time. For anyone wanting to do this I would recommend spending as much time acclimatising as possible as it will make your summit push that much easier. Thank you to Anuj and the whole team!
Our Explore Himalaya trip in a nutshell - AMAZING! From the moment we walked out of the airport, until the minute we finished up, we were very well taken care of. Our Island Peak adventure was everything we could have asked for, supplying us with everything we needed to make a proper attempt at achieving our summit goal. Most of our group made it to the top with their Explore guides, and those that didn’t were thrilled with their personal achievements. I consider the entire experience a huge success.
