Turkish Carpet Rug Weaving Workshop (Halı Kilim Dokuma Atölyesi)

It was a great experience. I went along with my friend, and we really enjoyed it. We definitely recommend this session if people are into hands‑on activities and want a break from walking—just to chill and spend some time. One side note: Hamza was very helpful and gave us great tips for food and transportation.

The weaving class was a lot of fun. It was our first time using the knot tying technique. İlier was a great instructor, helpful and very friendly. He ever gave class members transportation and restaurant tips. We’d definitely recommend trying this workshop if you have a free few hours in Istanbul.

We really enjoyed our class! Our teacher was very friendly and knowledgeable, his English was also great so no trouble understanding the lesson. The small group size also meant we got support whenever needed. We were sent very thorough instructions and photos prior to the class making it easy to locate. Enjoyed it so much we're considering it as a hobby, thanks!

This experience was amazing. The space is a little hard to find but the team sent lots of photos and then walked us through it via WhatsApp when we got turned around. The class was very well done, learned a bit of history about rug making, chose our colors and pattern then got to work. The teacher was knowledgeable and gave everyone individual attention as needed. We were all able to leave with a completed rug that will be a great memory of our trip. The added local recommendations were a nice touch and I can’t wait to go back to the bakery they suggested. The experience felt very locally run from the generational knowledge of our teachers.

I didn't know I was so good at carpet weaving. Maybe my teacher is very good :). It was both educational and enjoyable.Enjoy

This is one of the coolest "things to do" in Istanbul! Hamsa is a thorough and engaging teacher and host who has you making a kilim motif on a loom in under 2 and half hours. We sipped tea, nibbled on cookies, and listened to great music while making a mini Turkish rug. SO MUCH FUN!

The carpet-making workshop was a great family experience for our teenagers and adults alike. It's hands-on, and we learned a lot about the skill and steps needed to make carpets. If one works diligently, then you can finish the sample in 3 hours, otherwise we ended up tying some knots at home. The finished product was great and our best Istanbul "souvenir". I recommend the experience especially if you're experiencing bad weather during your trip.

It was amazing, I would recommend 100000%. So much fun and enjoyable. We were amazed by the results and the experience. :)
